@AbsoluteZero Watching your video. Your dot map is so much better then mine. And it looks so obvious now.
Spoiler:
Why oh why did I put Sparta where I did? It remains crap city for so long! Certainly not a best location for TGL+NE in your game though. I'd put HE there with 2 plain phants, plain cow and plain horse.
It's an old game by now Gkey, i think this forum is still amazingly active considering that
I might be active again in your next one, this one didn't tiggle me sorry
One with a town that is specialized in creating shoes!
Umm i don't know..maybe a leader from the weaker category who is rarely played, but with decent land to make it possible to win.
Muahahahaa, after watching this last string of vids, I have to say AZ, that you really should consider a rename of your nickname, to Absolute Whipping
I have NEVER seen or practised that amount of whipping, that you do in most of your games , wow
NO! It was a great idea IMHO. I have enjoyed reading it (and watching "Absolute Whipping's" videos ) Can't contribute since I am still working at mastering Emperor level but that doesn't mean I haven't gained a lot of insight because of the thread. I say keep them comming.
The talent pool that successfully wins deity on a consistent basis usually takes a long time to play games. Even for me I have to play a lot more carefully on deity and still have no guarantees of victory. IMO as long as a couple people are playing it's worthwhile to put the threads up, but it's really up to you.
I imagine there's a lot of chance involved about who has free time etc. at the time the game goes up. It's also possible people tried this one and found it too hard/easy or just otherwise uninteresting and didn't play far in.
Put another one up next week and it might get hundreds more views, or hundreds less. I'll always have a crack at them anyway
An occasional deity forum game is a good motivation to dabble at that level and test my improvement when I would not normally go near it because it's too

Thanks for supporting the idea. I will roll new maps and come up with new one, when I will get something interesting.
Regarding "Absolute Whipping" game stile , have you seen his lib race video with Lis? That where he had only 6 cities (pretty bad cities) and drafted non stop? Despite unhappiness with 100% culture slider and starvation? No way I could do such a thing myself.
At least this particular map I pulled with average whipping, not extreme one.

I am sure, there is no such a player, who can guarantee win on any deity map.
That's why before posting map here I play it long enough to see if it's winnable.
On the other hand I can't imagine better way to learn win deity, then play map and watch gameplay video by top player. Hope AbsoluteZero will keep them coming.
You could post you cultural too btw AZ asked you on youtube too. Deity cultural win is not something everyone can do. Not me at least.

Was playing map while watching AZ's videos, shamelessly using his spoilers.
Spoiler:
When I watched that in his game Sal decided to be troops spammer a la Shaka, I've searched Sal's territory with spy more thoroughly until I have found his stack - really bad one.
And I was just about to declare on him
So I bribed Sal to declare on Wang Kon (he took steel for that , but sure was worth it) , grabbed popcorn and watched this coming into that:
Spoiler:
The rest was easy. No nukes were needed, just a modest 75 units stuck.
Spoiler:
With all land I got, could make it twice as big in 10 turns, but that was more then enough. Captured 3 cities in 4 turns and Wang Kon capitulated. Domination 1820AD.
Please keep posting games. I'm sure there are others out there like me who can't play deity but thoroughly enjoy following your deity games/threads/videos.
yeah I saw it 10 minutes later, but got me wondering, since you mention there that drama is good trade bait (and that I agree with!) etc. and then avoid it like plague with half the tech researched.
it felt unnatural ;-).
I enjoyed how you managed to avoid the 0% slider trap in middle ages with actively trying to sell "everything" you have :-D.
edit:
btw you definitely have some balls... declaring with 17 cuirs... on Emperor I usually wait for at least 25. would suppose that on Deity you would wait longer! Especially when facing pikes eventually

I decided to go for music that's why I skipped drama when I did.
17 Cuirs is fine for an attack, you get more as the war continues. Pikes are even or a little weaker then cuirs since they get 2 promotions with stables. Nothing to worry about. If you attack with 17 cuirs when your opponent's best counter is pikemen then they aren't going to give you any trouble. Usually if an AI can't crush you outright then he will camp in his towns, even if you're using HA's.
