@Dutchfire: Can you and I swap? My daughters first birthday party is today and Monday is too pack for me to have the time to play. Tuesday is the earliest chance I have.

Alright :) I'll try to play monday then.

I'm planning on revolting to slavery, since we have a lot of small, food rich cities, that could use some production.

I intend to move all our military that isn't serving as necessary military police to the Malinese border, hopefully, we'll be able to declare war next turnset. I'm going to focus on military this turnset.

Yep, that Islamic holy city, with shrine, is now Indian property :)

I played 10 turns, revolted to slavery, discovered Civil Service and Metal Casting (ran 100% science since we had a lot of spare gold), bought Calendar, revolted to Bureaucracy, started a 3 vs 1 war against Mansa Musa, and took his holy city. :) On the bad side of the news, I lost a barracks to monsoon flooding (typical, we're Indian).

Spoiler :

130:
Move some military
Delhi starts catapult

131:
Revolt to slavery
Whip Madras, Varanasi

132:
Bombay starts stable
Pataliputra starts War Elephant
Varanasi starts Granary
Madras starts Granary
Whip Calcutta

133:
Delhi starts Catapult
Agra starts Granary
Calcutta starts Granary
Whip Cherokee, Pataliputra (I wanted 1 Elephant when I declared war)
Give Mansa Currency + Code of Laws for war on Huayna and 60 gold

134:
Pataliputra War Elephant -> War Elephant
Cherokee starts Granary
Qin declares war on Mansa (That's a nice surprise)
I decide to join the club, and declare war on Mansa too.
Axeman kills Skirmisher near Cherokee
Troops move towards Kumbi Saleh (1 War Elephant, 1 Horse Archer, 2 Catapults, 5 Axes)

135:
Vija... Market-> War Elephant

136:
Delhi Catapult->Catapult
Bombay Stable->War Elephant
Lahore Courthouse->Granary
Bombard Kumbi Saleh
Whip Varanasi

137:
Civil Service completed, start Metal Casting
Varanasi starts Axeman
Agra starts Courthouse
Pataliputra loses barracks to monsoon flooding
lose 1 cat against 2 Skirmishers + 1 Axeman :)
Take Kumbi Saleh, has Islamic Shrine (+12 :gold: at the moment)
Adopt Bureaucracy (Delhi doing 2 turn catapults now)
Next target Djenne
Buy Calendar for Code of Laws + 55 gold (Huayna)

138:
De Gaulle offers gems for Corn, I take it.
Delhi builds another catapult
Scouting galley dies to barbarian

139:
Bombay War Elephant - War Elephant
Vija.. Axeman
Calcutta Market

140:
Metal Casting - Machinery
Delhi catapult - forge
Pataliputra War Elephant - Barracks (stupid monsoon)
Varanasi Library

For the next turnset, we could build the Colossus (forge 5 turns Colossus 6 turns) in Delhi, for extra cash and great merchant points.
Bombay & Pataliputra have stables, so they should build war elephants.
Kumbi Saleh needs a lot of improvement, better make a road towards it (and the frontlines) first. We can also hook up calendar resources now. Kumbi Saleh needs a market too, since it has a shrine.
I think we should focus on taking Djenne, and then Timbuktu.

Dutch, great turn! :greatjob: I love the smell of...I mean I love to see War Elephants in action! You are a snake, getting a trade deal and getting Mansa to DOW on someone else, lol! Then, to get such great luck in Qin DOW on Mansa too, wow! Losing a Barracks to the Monsoon is so small compaired to everything else that appears to have gone in our favor :)

The war with Mansa should be wrapped up before I play again, lol, :greatjob:

I agree with Colossus. Either we build it soon or someone else will, and it's a wonder that you don't want in an enemy's hands, plus the extra gold will help support our larger empire.

FYI, Mansa gets Theology in 9 turns. We need to really make a dent in his research capability ASAP!

I'd love him to build the Apostolic Palace :) I'd rather have him research Theology than, say, Feudalism.

Yes, I hate fighting cities defended by Longbowmen...

Roster:
dutchfire - played
Joe Harker - on deck
kwarriorpoet
DaveShack
Methos - Up - swapped with dutchfire
w00ter - added

I thought Methos was going to play on tuesday.

Hang on, after Methos is it me or w00ter?

Either way is fine by me, but I suggest w00ter plays first, since he hasn't played yet. Unless you prefer playing earlier of course, then we could do it the other way round.

I'm fine with switching with Joe Harker. I'll let you guys continue the war ;).

Wooter, don't worry, there will be much conflict fun to be had

No, w00ter you can play first, just checking to avoid confusion later on! :)

I have a lot of thing going on at the moment so it makes sense for you to play first.
