Democratic Succesion Game

I did :) Nice start of the race, the rest wasn't as good though. At least Ferrari won :)

1) Good run by the BMW's, Mclaren were shocking, however Kovalainen got fastest lap by 4 tenths  8 laps before the end though so they obiviously set the car up wrong and 2) we should really be discussing this in the F1 thread. :)

So, without looking at the save, since I'm at work, how many crucial city sites are left now? Also, should I build those markets or build some swordsmen and axes for Monte and the Barb City, going for Construction for the cats? Again, for Monte? What's the economy like? How many units can we build and not start going into debt to support them?

I'll have a look at the game. I'm pretty sure that Construction is a good tech to research next by the way.

The only other tech we could do with is calender, as we got several resources that need plantations. But if we are going for an early war then construction would be what i would take right now. BTW i couldn't see any iron.

Monte's hiding it!!!! ARRGH!!! LOL! I think I heard a whisper that he'd let us have it "Out of [his] cold dead hands!" (Sorry, Charlton Heston was the man, couldn't resist)

CR Axemen it is with no iron, will need more CATs but it's doable. My experience says we'll need at least 6 CATs to take down a walled cities defense, and then sacrifice 2 to soften the defenders (I'd like to go in with 8, using 4 to sacrifice) and then without Swords, you'll need 2 Axemen per defender for sure, so plan on 8-10 Axemen. We may need to support the Axemen with Medic Spearmen also. Building this army will take time. Should we go to slavery? And if so, when would be optimal?

We need 1-2 cats for the barb city and maybe two more axemen. We were losing 2 gold with about approx 110 gold left. Markets in the core cities would be good to support more units.

If we get horses, horse archers have a good strength value thats better than axemen, even with the -10% for cities, so they could deal with the archers that come up.

Well, I can see Delhi and the Beaver city going for markets. The other cities are going to need to be military cities at least temporarily, and the ivory city (did we build a city near the corn and dye?).

For the Barb city, I'd be alright attacking with two Cats and two CR Axemen. We would have to sacrifice the two Cats though.

Do we have Ivory? Construction + Ivory (+ Horseback Riding) + barracks + stable = combat 2 War Elephant :)

We probably need 2(/3) axes/archer for the barb city

Should still be there!

There are three axes (2CR one unpromoted) at the barb city so build a few cats in Bombay, that should deal with them.

We do indeed, crank out those elephants and goodbye Mali :D

(Rubbing hands...) Indian War Elephants....Bye Bye Mali :)

We have 2 cities that will be settled next turn, and then we're ready with building cities ourselves, for now.

I think Agra should get some defence, I wouldn't want a malinese unit dropped there by galley. So better build an axe after the lighthouse.

Delhi is at it's pop cap, so either build a market there (that should improve our gold by 2 per turn too), or move a citizen from the lake to a plains forest. After that, build some military (axes, 1 or 2 spears in total, to avoid chariot counterattacks).
Bombay should get a granary first, then a temple to improve the happiness limit, and then I think it can produce military too
Vija... can start on military right away IMO
Pata... should probably get a granary first, to improve growth, the same goes for Varanasi
Wouldn't it be better for Calcutta to work the riverside fur instead of the grassland forest.

By the way, we can trade Polytheism for Archery + 20 gold with Wang Kon. That sounds like a fine deal :)

kwarriorpoet is up by the way.
