My opinion (I've CCed Ginger_Ale):

Number six states that after writing and the republic are discovered, both teams share techs. So if M.I.A. and K.I.S.S. don't start giving each other known techs after the republic has been discovered, then I believe it has been broken.

Number seven states that M.I.A. and K.I.S.S. are at peace indefinately. If needed, either team can cancel this peace ten turns after the discovery of the republic. However, they must give a ten turn warning before doing so. So if the republic is discovered on turn 85:
*M.I.A.'s at peace with K.I.S.S. until turn 85.
*M.I.A. cannot announce a cancellation of the peace until turn 95.
*M.I.A. must wait ten turns after they announce a cancellation of the peace.

Nitpick: Technically, there is no in-game technology "republic." Thus, one could interpret the discovery of republic as a nation entering that government, or that since one can't discover republic, neither nation must share techs and must stay at peace forever. ;)

I hope this helps. :)

hmmm.. So by the words of the Great Archer above, if war is to be with MIA. We can either:

- hope that MIA doesn't give us Poly
- wait 20 turns after Republic is discovered.
- go get TNT

Got genius plan. We give them republic, and attack when they're in anarchy :) . Would require a different plan though. That means no last minute hoplite rushes.
Ahhh...Lil' Grasshoppah your enthusiam is infectuous. I think that's also part of the plan since we have the religious trait. :D

But, they might see this war coming and not revolt ... :D
We operate under a GA in republic and they get one in despot.....which equals a big fat :D

How about dedicating Polecat to military production now that war is planned? Maybe we could do some MGL-fishing and pop a FP in the Flaxon Musk area when the smoke has settled? I know it's a remote chance and that a GS-army is awesome, but my God would it be cool to have a second core there. Also having Polecat locked on FP feels bad ATM.

I wouldn't dally around against a human either wrt leader hunting. Those Hoplites are really very cheap pikes, and they can grow like bunnies in the hands of a determined player.

TNT has built the MoM in Semtex. One wonders why? Spoilered is an article from the war academy.
Spoiler :
THE MAUSOLEUM OF MAUSOLLOS
Cost: 200
Technology Required: Philosophy
Other Requirements: None
Rendered Obsolete By: None
Traits: Scientific, Seafaring
Effect: Produces 3 happy faces in the city where its built. Tourist Attraction.
Culture: 2
Analysis: Well I mean, there's not much to say really is there. In honesty I have NEVER built the Mausoleum, nor can I see any particular reason for doing so. Its not that its bad its just...well...I can never really be bothered. Nor have I found any one else who really wants to. I mean on the face of it there's no real reason not to build it, 3 happy faces is nice, and it only costs 200, and is a tourist attraction, and it comes with Philosophy which there is a good incentive for making a drive for anyway...but equally there's no real reason TO build it either. The 3 happy faces could be useful in a city by a river, which is therefore likely to grow to size 12 fairly early on and could do with the extra happiness, that I can concede. I guess like the Colossus, this one's basically a luxury, if you have a city with really nothing to do, then sure, build it, other wise just let it pass you without noticing it.

We have been shamed.... TNT are obviously the bigger idiots.

They probably didn't take this game very serious. I believe they're laughing at our attempts to find logic in their actions. :)

I am mystified by this build as well but they are human so it must've been thought out. We need to understand the logic....

What could be the reasons?
MoM is a scientific wonder so that fits their trait. Are we sure they're in a GA or war for that matter? What are the other industrious wonders?
3 happy faces are permanent so could they be doing it for further construction of wonders without war wariness in that city?

I think Whomp has 2 good points. IND wonders include pyramids and HG, so those might be what they're going for.

But 7 Immortals would do a better job at starting a GA, wouldn't they?

Or they're starting the GA for rushing Immortals, and then invading. Of course, if they attack Nuts, even if they overrun them they have little chance unless allied with MIA :)

Edit: Unless the TNT's plan getting Rep very soon, they shouldn't worry about WW.

GL or Sun Tsu's pre-build are my guesses. MoM is just to through us off.

Whether it's a throw-off or not, it's a pretty big waste of shields.

There must be a reason they did this. Tim Bentley is too smart of a player to let something like that happen willy nilly.

It's one of few things IMO.
1. for their trait benefit
2. For the 3 happy faces for further use. Will they consistently use the whip in this city?
3. More wonders while the city grows to 12.

I'm sure they've attack the nuts, from the embassy pic. MW's w/o rax means they were attacked.

My theory: They're stupid. I used to make bad decision like that, building the MoM unnecessarily, and they're doing that too. And, remember, they have to vote on everything cause they're silly democrats. Maybe the best players couldn't outvote the lesser ones.

They also might have planned on Dancing Banana grow to high sizes, and needing mom to keep them happy, so it can pump immortals or something. But a cathedral would do much better, and they could have built immmortals instead. Or they might be trying to build immortals in every other city, with the wonder to fool the nuts that they're in peace mode now.

x-post- yes, Tim is a very good player, I had the luck to play with him in a deity game, and we would have lost without his warmongering skill. But in a democratic society he's only one vote ;) .
