Continued from before....
Turn 3(1345) Go through each city and make sure there is only 1 defender in all cities that aren't close to the border. Unless we need them as MPs, I want them all on the front. Will rally them all to Mandalgovi. If They don't all get there on my turn, the next leader can use them. Byz has 2 size 9 towns, 2 size 6 towns, and 1 small village up north called Naissus. I think we should leave them Naissus as their capitol, but the other cities are going to be hard to take out...
In finding a lot of regular units as I do this. Guys we have to be careful on higher levels, on our next games up to DG, that we don't build anything but cats in a city without a barrack. Regular units die too quickly. I'd say about 80% of our home guard is regular units. Send a settler who's been in Boston since the ancient ages to Chicago to jump on a galley for when we find some new land. Hate to beat a dead horse, but I'm wondering if having all these regular pike and spears in our core cities are really worth keeping. If we make some new muskets, and disband the regular spear/pikes, it may be a better then upgrading a crap lot of regular units. Any thoughts on this? I really think it'd be a waste at this point. Do some more MM to negate any happiness issues from moving units, and complete one final assult on Adrianople.
Vet Knight vs vet pike injured. Knight Looses but retreats.
Vet Knight vs same pike. Takes him down to 2hps, but retreats.
Vet Knight kills same vet pike.
One redlined pike left in city. He falls to a vet Knight.
Adrianople is ours! Sure it may be 80% corrupt, but it's ours! Start to starve it down.
IBT - Boston riots, but everything else looks ok. Not going to do city builds, besides to say it'll be a mix of science and military, mainly musketmen.
Turn 4 (1350ad) I got Taejon to as close to a worker factory as I can. It'll make 12s/10f every 2 turns, so that means 2 shields will be wasted to do it. If you want to play with it on the first of the 2 turns, you can probably get it so it doesn't waste anything, but is good how it is now. Third player up, make sure you fill the Queue with workers again. I'm also going to convert Hovd to a workers factory. We need have a ratio of workers to cities of 1:2. We're going to have 60 cities very very quickly here, and only 30 workers... If we want to reach space we're going to have to get that going the other way around. We're going to avg a worker a turn with those 2 cities, which should just about give us enough to RR quickly once we get to the IA.
No battles in this turn, just moving my forces a bit further north.
IBT - Find out the Taejon is a true 2 turn worker factory, just has to be MM at the start. Need to move a worker from a mined BG to the irigated grassland that's nw of the city. Doesn't look like Hovd will do it without some work though.
Turn 5 (1355ad)
Keep working on Hovd to make it a nice worker factory. Thinking about trying to find one more. Hurry worker in Hovd to try and see if I can get things lined up there. Cost 80 gold, but figure it'll pay off in the long run.
IBT - MDIs attack our stack of knights. They take out 2, but loose 3. 1 Longbowman attacks and WINS vs a 3/4 vet knight?!
Turn 6 (1355ad) Figure we have to starve Hovd down to size 6 to get the factory, and by that time we'd get there we'd have JUST enough food, but corruption would take us down in shields. Hovd isn't going to work I'm afraid.
Bombard Smyrna's guards down to 2hps and redline the second one.
Elite MDI is redlined but takes out the Pikeman!
Vet MDI takes out redlined Vet Pikeman, and Smyrna is ours!
Elite Knights takes out MDIs and Archers in open from assult in IBT, and takes them all out. One Knight is redlined.
IBT - MDI attacks our Elite Ancient Cav, and looses. Spearman cut off one of our sources of Iron up
Turn 8?? (1365) Looks like turn 6 and turn 7 got mixed up into one part there. Sorry about that. Move Ancient Cav to the Iron near Varna. Will make it next turn, hopefully. If not, he'll draw some troops away from the capitol for that's our next target. Size 9 monster again. Trying to get 1 MDI in each city so I can move the knights out. No battles this turn.
IBT - Vet MDI attacks our stack of Hawch'a, with one Reg Elite defender and dies. That could have been messy. Magnetism comes in. Set to Banking in 8 with 86gpt. Can get it in 6 with 4gpt, but will keep it here. Next leader can decided.
Isin grew and rioted on me.
Turn 9 (1370) - I moved our Ancient Cav on to Varna's Iron mountian, along with 2 knights. Send one knight over to guard Hwach'a. Move some more knights out to the front line. Galley in Chicago can't be upgrade because we don't have a harbor. We can switch to harbor, and hurry or we can move 9 turns to get him upgraded. Will leave him in Chicago, with build set to Harbor.
IBT - Nada
Turn 10 (1075ad) Bombard improvments around Varna, but don't attack yet. Have more knights that should be there just in time for the next leader to get all the glory.

Sorry about the goto orders, but they're all short and to bring you righ tto the border.
Okay, we have 16 Spearman, and 27 Pikes. Most of those are Regular. When the wars over we have to go through, and find out which one is regular and vet. The regular ones should be disbanded, and the vets upgraded to musketman. It'll be better to get them out now before we get into the modern era. I'm working on it now, and sending all of them that I can find to one city.
Don't forget to MM Taejon (WF) everytime it builds a worker, and move the citizen from a mined BG to the irigated grassland to get it back in sync. We're down to 17 knights, and 12 MDI, which I'm sure is more then enough to take out Byzantinum, but just in case I do have a few knights on order. Once we are ready for peace, leave her that one northern city, and take the other 2, then starve down down our new cities to make them pure-breed.
Full speed ahead to Communisum, because I don't know how long I can take our corruption rate. Most cities are floating around 60-80% corruption. And we may want to think about disbanding some of our smaller land-grab cities to give more space. The next leader will probably have their hands full taking out Theorodora, but we really need to figure these things out before the leader after takes it again.
And I just want to say it's very Ironic that I'm watching a show on Byzantium as I try to destroy them.
Here's the .
