Diablo 3?

I wish so badly that I could remember where I heard this.I know it was from a reliable source, otherwise it wouldn't have stuck in my mind. Has anyone heard of a new sequel to Diablo coming out soon?

Even though, I can't recall exactly where I heard this - I seem to recall it as an advertisement of some kind. One that actually spawned from some Blizzard announcement themselves. However, I can't find any related info from even Blizzard themselves.

Bleh, WOW sucks. I actually would have prefered a Diablo MMO. Actually they said that at the WOW expansion Blizzard announced that there is still 2 more titles to be released this year. Hinting at Diablo 3. Some even spectulate the possibility of Starcraft 2. I guess we will know by 2008.

Starcraft is likely to be next with Blizzard saying there usual no-comment on whats in development next. Though stratergicly it wont be another mmo or diablo 3 since either of these games will "cut" into blizzards wow base.

others speculate once wow reaches saturation point 5Million is when blizzard will turn back to the traditional PC game franchises. Like getting SC Ghost out.

Think about it, what would there be left to do in a Diablo 3? We've already bagged all three brothers and destroyed their soulstones. The game is over.

I highly doubt there will be a diablo 3 for the following reasons:

1) Blizzard North (AKA Condor) no longer exists, it was closed in 2005.
2) Almost every single person who worked on Diablo under Blizzard North has moved elsewhere. Most of them have relocated to Flagship Studies (which is working on hellgate: london.. which is suppose to be VERY diablo like) and arenanet (which is the creator of Guild Wars).
3) The story is basically finished, what else is there to do?

WoW is in the Warcraft universe, not Diablo.

WoW plays very similiar to Diablo and even has some of the same aspects. Actually, it's basically just a Diablo MMO set in the warcraft universe.

IMHO if there's going to be a Diablo 3 it should reveal that Deckard Cain is the same Cain from Mortal Kombat.

Titan quest is close enough for D3 substitute for me. I think the diablo franchise has been used up and it's better to leave it be.

They both made by Blizzard (Not to mention Starcraft) But I really do hope they make Starcraft 2 before Diablo 3 (Cheap Bastards at blizzard probably too lazy to make those games, so they make even more WoWs XD)

It is very hard to see what a great Diablo sequel would be and that is probably one of the reasons they have not put one out so far.

Starcraft is another one, what can you do for an encore? I would be glad to see one of either, but they are not going to put out just any ole thing. Don't forget they have lost most of the team that created diablo.
