Dictator Mge

Rm,

The settler doesn't appear till you research him, he is more a rebuilding unit, to clean up and replace any ruined cities...

And there will be plenty of ruins to rebuild!

About open season...I take it your scn file is faulty?

Here is the one from my PC...

Download the MGE Converter. I forgot weither i got it here or somewhere else. I makes MGE files into FW files. Very useful.

Where can I get this converter?

Did not know that such a thing even existed...Ohwell, live and learn ;)

Check out the CIV 2 downloads section...utilities...I'm sure it's there...

Yes, but in MGE, the first space in the units file is the regular settler speed, the second space is the faster engineer. I was wondering whether you intended for slower engineers than usual.

Yes, and I couldn't find one. Thanks!

Wait...so, what do I use for an events file? I know I can copy the rules and graphics over from Dictator 2 standard, but...does open season have any events file or were there any other changes between the two?

RM,

For MGE I used the first settler space (as opposed to the engineer slot)
You won't get much time to terrian work or build cities,
as you will have enemy civs breathing down your neck all of the time!

Here is the events for open season, which should allow you to play it...just put the scn file into an 'open season' folder and copy over the *.bmps.

Hope this works for ya!

In my first playtest which I just finished, the AI does not give you a second to do anything other than fight!
In the scenario, The USA and UK are a formidable team!
And the Japanese and USSR kick some serious booty.
The Germans wreak havoc with their advanced hardware,
and every thing plays out rather well!

The Germans were at the gates of Stalingrad around May-June 1942!
The US Army arrived in N Africa around Aug 1941...

The AI seems to do these things almost on history schedule!
Operation Avalanche and D-Day are a real laugh...well for the Allies!

The AI controlled Brits held out until 1945 but then London was conquered...

This was without any assistance, I was playing as the neutrals.
Even with silly AI control, the opponents are rather challenging at times...sometimes actually a real menace!

With a human in control, the British, Russians and USA are very fun to play...much building of logistics and armies.

The Germans and Japanese are the warmonger's choice of course.
Japan's low tech warfare is quite refreshing...
Germany allows you to blast superior numbers with a few advanced weapons...the Me262 and H class BB units are war-winners!

And no 'too many units' messages either!
There are so many units getting blasted every turn, the number of units is always dwindling!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will be uploading a 'beta' of this thing tonight so anyone wanting a playtest of it, feel free!

I will release the full polished version at the weekend.

:D

Does the US have neutrality at first, or is everyone fighting immediately?

The scenario begins in Jun 1940, as the Luftwaffe is poised to attack the UK.
Only Germany and the British are at war at this point.

Every one else has a 'peace pact' (or alliance)...

Then in Jun 1941 Germany invades Russia. (breaks alliance)
Then in Dec 1941 the Japanese attacks USA. (breaks alliance)

If Tokyo is conquered, Russia goes to war with Japan...

There are other surpises, but I am not going to ruin it for you...

:D

Cool! :cooool: :goodjob:
