Difference between king and emperor

Hi,

I have achieved all victories on the king setting, and i want to go to emperor level now. What are the differences between the two settings ?

BS, there's no such thing as a combat bonus for enemies.
They just might be more agressively expanding and their research is faster. It's not that easy anymore to stay in 1st place in the tech race.

The AI gets more agressive and opportunistic. But in the end, you won't get attacked with stacks full of veteran upgraded armies with great generals and stuff. Cities are stacked with veteran upgraded armies with great generals though, so bring your own great general and find a hill to unleash your stacks from.

The AI comes at you with one or two armies and sometimes even single units. But still, you need to be properly defended or you're toast.

I'm a prince player with Civ 4 (level 5 of 9), but I can win with a proper challenge on Deity with Civ Rev.

When I play King normally 3 of the AIs gang up on me sometime in the Industrial era, but when I go to emperor level all 4 of them gang up on me just after the Ancient era and I faulter.
