Bernie,

All is not lost methinks. We can send you salt next turn, and you will have nationalism in 3 turns so you can put up a heck of a fight. We arent going to attack you so you can ship all your units to the front. If we can trade world maps and screenshots it would be helpful as we can place warriors or something in the way of MIA's units to allow you better defense of your homeland.

If you can somehow manage to get steam researched it will help greatly as well. We are switching full over to military production and may go communist as our team had discussed in some length recently. A kind of all out war or bust kind of thing. Good tactics and a smart war with MIA will take them down I think despite their Golden Age.

Well, that answers our question about whether or not they were working with MIA. Very good news indeed!!! :)

Im not sure we did ask about gifting cities about in TNT when you invaded and things wernt so helpfull but they were with different ideas.

My take on the gifting rule was obviously pure rubbish, sorry. Anyway, I felt like contributing something on the diplo scene so I sent this to Nutters.
Spoiler :
Hi!
This is not an official letter from team KISS but my personal view on the situation. Although we're shocked by MIA's recent intrusion and will suffer greatly for some time, we're not by any means waving the white flag. If You and Us stick together throughout this we will be the last teams standing. We will be reduced landwise, maybe even have to leave our home continent for a while, but we will not be erased if Doughnuts back us up. It's all in your hands ATM. IMHO your best shot at the overall victory is to whack those Greeks in alliance with KISS. When we have completed that mission you will prolly be in a healthier condition than us, we will have to accept that. For KISS to have a fair shot in the coming space race, I would like us to agree on the future land division of Greece. We have been allowed a nice chunk of land at your place. Would it be fair to split the green continent in the same way, i.e. Doughnuts gets the SW of MIA land (which would include Athens)? Such an agreement would make it easier to pull of a honorable head to head SS. That would be a great way to finish a great game.
You can reply on mail, or just bring it up on IM with the other KISSers.

All The Best

At the momet that seems a bit much. :crazyeye:
Less would mean we're out of the game and I refuse that until the phat lady has completed the last phrase.
"Retreat" to battle island, invite Nut units to help out with defense, build privateers/frigates to ditch MIA landing forces and cross our fingers, that's what we have to do. Oh, and order another round of

My PM to Robi D
Full on slaughter. They didn't lose a unit last turn. Amazing how powerful rails are. When the admins wouldn't allow the two cities it was over. That was my fault since I didn't read the rules before my turnset. Sorry.

MIA has offered us peace. My thinking is we accept for a certain number of turns with a clause that says if they attack you then it would be considered an attack on us. We have no way to defend ourselves so we thought we'd consult you first. What do you think?

From Robi D...
I just sent them a nasty letter telling them to stick it where the sun don't shine actually. They had sent a letter asking about continuing trading arrangements to us. I figured if they are offering peace then make them feel uncomfortable and not give it to them, plus it would be just delaying the onslaught. I think any pause would benefit them further anyway. Sad to say but it looks like we are both facing defeat. I don't know all the options are bad. If MIA get any kind of foothold they will be unstoppable. My opinion is since were probably going to lose might as well go down fighting. I must say it makes us both look bad, took us forever to get rid of TNT and they go and take 1/2 a continent in 5 turns.

A conversation with Robi D. There open to any suggestions at this point.

Rob says:
hi whomp
Whomp says:
Hey Rob
Rob says:
hows it going
Whomp says:
All's well
Whomp says:
lunch?
Whomp says:
what time is it there?
Rob says:
10.10 am
Rob says:
just finished breakfast
Whomp says:
btw we're not going to make peace
Whomp says:
makes no sense
Whomp says:
we need to figure out how to hurt them though
Rob says:
i don't think we are either, especially after the message i sent.
Rob says:
they were not happy
Whomp says:
what turn is your peace over?
Rob says:
got a nasty one back from FE so i returned the favour
Rob says:
177
Rob says:
lucky they can rail over water
Whomp says:
i think privateers first
Whomp says:
sink some ships
Rob says:
we have some, and we are building frigates and a couple galleons so we can launch some attacks although that will be just quick in and out stuff to try and disrupt them
Whomp says:
i wish we could gift boats
Rob says:
we are building them like crazy. Might be an idea for one of us to go for ironclads
Rob says:
basically as the situation stands we have to rely on MIA to make a mistake somewhere otherwise they will win no matter how you look at it
Whomp says:
i'd think with rails everything can change
Whomp says:
they don't know that
Rob says:
we are trying to get rails everywhere now
Whomp says:
if we can give them as much war wariness as possilbe
Rob says:
but we wont get everywhere by 177. If they attack right away and get a good foothold then they will win very quickly, otherwise we will drag it out as much as possible
Whomp says:
are you upgrading cavs?
Whomp says:
to cavs?
Rob says:
yes
Whomp says:
should we research or share cash?
Rob says:
and building lots of rifles
Rob says:
i don't know what the best option is to be honest
Rob says:
there is reasons to go either way
Whomp says:
can you keep pace with them?
Whomp says:
probably not
Rob says:
not now
Whomp says:
unless the get war wariness
Rob says:
we worked out that they will be able to do 4 turn research
Rob says:
once established in the north
Rob says:
the other thing is that they might not attack, but they still should get some
Whomp says:
we need to pull of a major surprise some how
Whomp says:
somehow
Rob says:
i can't see how at the moment, but we have to hang in there and who knows they might leave an opening
Rob says:
hopefully they will get over confident
Whomp says:
chamnix doesn't strike me as a big risk taker
Whomp says:
very calculated
Whomp says:
an actuary
Rob says:
yeah but everyone can get carried away, hopefully he will, if not then it will be hard to make back into the running
Rob says:
at least we beat tnt
Whomp says:
hah
Whomp says:
would it be better if we're around or gone
Whomp says:
?
Rob says:
around
Rob says:
for one thing less corruption then if we are one nation
Rob says:
and we need every little bit at the moment
Rob says:
two moves against one
Rob says:
might help a little
Whomp says:
are you hunting with privateers yet?
Rob says:
yes we have a couple out there but its only been one or two turns
Whomp says:
best to hunt in packs
Rob says:
we should sign an rop in the game to free up movement
Whomp says:
yep
Whomp says:
thought we had one
Whomp says:
we need to raze that city
Rob says:
i don't remember it being mentioned
Rob says:
leo's city
Rob says:
?
Rob says:
or do you mean the MIA one
Whomp says:
Leos was in Simpleton
Whomp says:
it's MIA's now
Rob says:
still need to raze it
Whomp says:
i meant the one in the jungles between us
Rob says:
you can take that now if you want since you are at war. If we don't have an rop in the game just send it along
Whomp says:
brb
Rob says:
but leo's has to be a prime target for us, it will give them too big an advantage otherwise
Rob says:
ok
Whomp says:
back
Rob says:
you guys can take the silk city easily there is not much there
Whomp says:
it had 1 MI
Whomp says:
as lead defense
Whomp says:
so we have a cav headed there
Rob says:
on the corruption theme, it might be worth while gifting you some of the cities in the far north
Whomp says:
you can't
Rob says:
and we need lots of boats in there face, if we can get them to take there time over an invasion we can sure things up at our end
Whomp says:
actually you could i guess
Whomp says:
it's not avoiding conquest
Rob says:
we should be able to it not like mIA are about to take them
Whomp says:
i gotta tell you that was hard for me to take
Rob says:
i don't know these are just ideas floating in my head, but we need to squeeze every last coin and hammer and beaker out of our continent
Rob says:
what?
Whomp says:
yep
Whomp says:
it was hard getting whacked like that
Whomp says:
brb again
Rob says:
ok
Rob says:
no doubt it would be hard, to lose half a continent in a few turns is not a good feeling in anyones language
Whomp says:
bacj
Whomp says:
in and out
Rob says:
i'm going to have to get going soon. All we can do is work together and hope for the best
Whomp says:
we're open to all suggestions
Rob says:
so are we
Whomp says:
we want you to win
Whomp says:
we know we have no chance
Rob says:
we can only try. I think the best thing to do is keep the pressure on MIA and look for an opening. Leo's is something we have to get rid of otherwise it will be very difficult
Whomp says:
hopefully it will flip
Rob says:
that would be hard as you don't have any cities over there but fingers crossed
Rob says:
anyway i have to get going. Have a good weekend. Hopefully we can work something out between us to stop MIA
Whomp says:
ok
Whomp says:
bye rob
Rob says:
bye

Intel report from Donut. Steam is in!
dl pile of #'s guy said:
Boats: We sighted one you your galleys off the east coast with our pirate ship, we are reconing the east coast for us so we don't get surprised from MIA, the last MIA boats we have seen you scared into their city, but we will let you know if we see more

Gifts: We have finished Steam Power and have sent it to you, next turn we will send you coal also, since we just happen to have a second

Intel: Got an embassy with MIA last turn there capital is putting out 150 sci per turn and after their golden age they will be putting out about the save because Copernious will finish, their capital is unguarded this turn (turn 175)

their capital is unguarded this turn (turn 175)
hmm That would be an interesting place to land

we could look for some place to land where we could bombard all around so there one movers couldnt get there only there cavs-then we might have a chance while say the nutters land on the opposing side or whatever.

Land and burn!!!!
