Diplo for MIA

I think the civilopedia text is "by then, saltpeter is in abundance and you no longer need a source fot it" - that is for rifles, however cavalries obviously take a much greater amount of gunpowder to work as they require salt even after nationalism ... :crazyeye:

The war plan for MIA is pretty simple. Given their city layout they will make it very easy to rip through them if we can crack the first layer. We will want to concentrate about 50% of our cannon in the center of the line along with the majority of our cavs. Step one, move a cannon stack next to an MIA city along with a boat load of cavs and defenders. Step two, bombard, attack and capture city one. From there we can use our three move cavs to strike into the heart of MIA.

We will want to coordinate such an attack with an Nutters amphibious landing on either the SE or SW coast. I would recommend the SE for easier logistics.

The nutters perhaps wouldnt be too happy with this but they should land and attack first, MIA could divert a lot of troops south and it wouldnt matter to the nutters as much if they lost units as the majority of their cities wouldnt be in danger.

I think gifting Donut a city on our west coast for ship chaining makes a ton of sense.

True, but the war will be on us prior to turn 177. The threat of such action might be good enough. MIA already thinks the Nuts are dishonorable.

Than again, as the point has already been made, if they have a rail net up it matters little.

I'm sure they have a rail net up or at least started. We need to ink a deal with the Nutters really quick, otherwise I don't think we should give them anything else. I get the feeling they are going to back out on us.

Mostly idle chit chat but here's some stuff with Irongold. I mentioned a little 5 turner peace deal.

fe3333au (6:23:24 PM): you will have an answer next go ... since been out of loop for about 2 turns ... they are cycling pretty fast and will need input from others
fe3333au (6:24:31 PM): I'm frustrated about not being able to really get into game at g/f's ... but the benefits are very good
bawhomp (6:24:54 PM): i know now it's really moving
fe3333au (6:25:20 PM): killer is a good player ... but not so good diplomatically
fe3333au (6:25:31 PM): you found that?

fe3333au (9:23:53 PM): If you ask killer they either won't reply or be very abrupt

bawhomp (9:23:05 PM): not sure how they were getting iron from you
bawhomp (9:23:10 PM): can't figure that out
fe3333au (9:23:17 PM): ha ha ... didn't I say you couldn't trust them

:hmm: I think that you caught him here. Since D'nut and us were at war with TNT, we couldn't have traded iron to them. The didn't have any iron in their cultural boundries, so either they had a colony somewhere that we didn't find or they were given iron from MIA.

So, does future diplomacy involve a white flag? :p

or maybe I should request Rik to close this thread :(

it was about you guys having iron while you just had your capital.

We cut all of your iron (or so we thought) and we and D'nuts were at war with you. So it is our premise that MIA was gifting (selling) you iron trying to keep us busy. In Whomp's conversation with fe, they were referring to fe's accusation that RobiD was lying in a global thread about sending you iron.

to be honest, I'm not following this either. So just ignore that bit :p

I would leave it open ended and ask them what they'll offer.

Because if they don't we should make it our objective to make them as miserable as TNT made us.

:smug:

and here we not only have me to make it miserable for them but a bunch of idiots :D

MIA seems satisfied with their campaign and offers peace. I see no reason not to accept since we won't be ready to counter within 20 turns anyway. I love them offering some salt so we "can defend ourselves properly". Do they feel omnipotent (uber-cocky to you AK) or what???
Let's make peace, asking for something else than salt, then start planning revenge with Bakery Boys. I've sent a brief reply that we will consider their generous offer.

Side note: The numbers dpt may find that we gain more from having WH, than we do accepting peace. In that case...fight on.

Spoiler :
To the Government of KISS

Since we have unexpectedly taken full control of the Continent and also honoured the 'deflowering of the innocents' incident we would like to offer peace as discussed with the great Whomp in a recent diplomatic tete-a-tete.

We offer the ending of hostilities and also at no cost offer a supply of saltpeter so that you may defend yourselves adequately against your neighbours the ever expanding Nutters.

What say you?

As a show of good faith, we will not attack any of your units on the Green Continent while we wait for your response. Unless, of course, the units move, pillage, attack, or otherwise prove to be an annoyance to us. We are willing to allow them to be transported back to your new homeland, along a path that MIA determines, if you accept our peace proposal.

Regards

Feaurius III
MIA Foreign Minister

I think that we need to stay at war with them. Drag out negotiations. How much WW could they have.

The rules state that we have to make concerted effort to continue to make war. And we are, just not very effective since our entire core is now gone.

since we have less than 1% chance of winning this now, I'd suggest that we consult with donuts and perhaps accept peace with the clause that an attack vs donuts means an attack against us. We don't want to sign peace for 20 only to see MIA attack donuts in 10 and wrap up the game.

Why would they offer a peace treaty? I doubt that they want to drag this game to the Modern Ages to get their precious space race.
