From Council: (40-50 turns requested for peace term, could it be the period they need to be able to sail the seas freely?)
Dear Babes and Bambinos,
We are heartened by your heartwarming at our offer of peace.
In that spirit, we'd like to put the dark days of any misunderstanding
and mistrust behind us and sign a peace treaty!
First, let us just explain that our last letter which, we think, was
misunderstood. Both of our great peoples had expressed a desire for
peace, but we had concerns because of your possession of the Great
Lighthouse that you may have been intending to spy out our coast for
an invasion point
(I know! A terrible thing to think of our new
friends!), and therefore wanted you to go into a holding pattern
till we could nail down a peace treaty. [you should know, this is the
same approach we've taken previously with our allies, and they
apparently found it more natural.] It's true that we'd appreciate your
curragh's delay while the treaty is finalized, but we leave that to
your discretion.
So, let's put our goodwill into writing, say guaranteed peace for
40-50 turns, and we'd be delighted to see you sail on, and would even
send you our TourMonk to point out some of the key sights along our
coast! What do you say?
Come on, Bambino ole' buddy!

let's be friends!

P.S.
(and if you could get that first ambassador's number for us,
many councilors would be much obliged… she seems to have left with no
forwarding address.
