Discovery NES I: Bethel

Well we can have two hashshashins in the new world, just put them in different starting places and they may or may not have the same target (which may or may not lead to a competition :P) But if I recall correctly you wanted to change the history a little, Thomas? You could always be a freelancer who has more material drives than spiritual ones.

Not at all, Haseri. you can have it. I'll play as something else. :) don't want anything toooo similar in the game, right?

can I claim the Bey of the Gold moon?

Looking at Kherbala Desert Nomad.

Also, looking forward to a map. ^_^

Maps are up! Probably will have to clarify what the terrain colors translate to in terms of climate but right now I'm typing two essays AND the ruleset. Man I'm a monster.

Oooh, pretty. What program do you use to make those? They're amazing.

(BTW, for making a character name, what language should I base it off of? Kherbala sounds vaguely North Indian, but the other names in the territory are very different.)

Kherbala = Northern Indian (As you guessed)
Isetmut = Egyptian
Jankol = Southern Indian
Messet = Arabic/African

Of course, really, it's a blend of everything so you can use an Arabic name for Jankol if you want seeing how this world enjoyed a very long period of cross-cultural stability and peace thanks to Raphim's Way and the Kannon Empire.

Also, Skelle Escaped Slave/Skelle character in general would use Nordic names.

As for what program I used? Photoshop CS3. It's pretty easy once you learn it and if you look in the map thread I posted a link to a great tutorial I used to create my map styles.

EDIT:

Yeah, Thomas, you can claim the Bey of the Gold Moon.

Updated to add in character templates. Now you guys should be able to actually begin creating characters. Up next: Rules!

If my overenthusiasm is annoying, 'pologies. (Maybe I'm weird in that I worry that overenthusiasm annoys people. Does it?)
BTW I'm going for names that comply with Sanskrit grammar - that -āyās ending for Kerbālā is the Sanskrit genitive (of Kherbālā).

Character Name: Katṝṣṇas

Age: 29

Gender: Male

Nationality: Kherbālāyās

Social Class: III

History: Kherbālāyās Desert Nomad

Attributes (btw this probably isn't the best arrangement for my class, since IDK exactly what it is - it's probably a bit too well-rounded)
Acumen: 4
Agility: 3
Charisma: 4
Courage: 6
Dexterity: 3
Intuition: 4
Strength: 5

Perks: (do I just copy the list for the class like I did, or what?)

Heavy Robes
Nomad Horse

You are a member of the elite order of Furusiyya (horsemen/horsemanship) and are both shrewed merchant and valiant warrior. You are the stuff of Jankol poems and the darling child of the people. Membership among the Beys of the Gold Moon is no easy feat and you have more than proved yourself. However, this has not come without your fair share of hardships: you have made more than a few enemies along your path to power and sometimes find it difficult to deal with the current state of the clergy- who you see as leeches upon the kingdom- but surely these things will not impede your path to wealth and glory?

As of the beginning of the game you have arrived in the capital Jankol colony of Batrem where there is a Gold Moon Chapterhouse where all you need to do is say the word and supplies will be drawn for your expedition in-land for the luxuries just out of reach.

Battlefield Tactician
Battlefield Medic

You only have two perks to spend, Thomas, yet you have four (three levels of battlefield tactician and one of battlefield medic). Please adjust appropriately!

I'll be posting the templates I deem as complete on the frontpage.

@Haseri: Only two perks, Haseri. You have a total of four (Two navigation, two herbal lore, )

@TF: You already have Hardy III, seeing how choosing Hardy I will yield no further benefits and is just a waste of a free perk.

Thus far only Taylor Flame's checks out, though I do think Icarus claimed that history before. I'll post it anyway and if there is a problem we'll sort things out.

I do not think you added all your attribute bonuses... Did you add in the bonuses gained from your social class and your nationality?

Changed.
