DisNES II "A Twist of Fate"

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in Calicut, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the Sinhalese Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in Buddha's good time, the nations abroad, with all their power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the righteous."

Thats a really **** threath

Heres a better one:

From the King of Kings of the West
To Holy Roman Emperor Joseph I

Whose armies fled to escape our swords. You should think of what happened to your soldiers ... and submit to us. You have heard how we have slaughtered your men and purified the earth of the disorders that tainted it. You cannot escape from the terror of our armies. Where can you flee? What road will you use to escape us? Our horses are swift, our bayonets sharp, our guns like thunderbolts, our hearts as hard as the mountains, our soldiers as numerous as the sand. Fortresses will not detain us, nor arms stop us. Your prayers to God will not avail against us. We are not moved by tears nor touched by lamentations. Only those who beg our protection will be safe. Hasten your reply before the fires of hell are kindled to our bidding ... Resist and you will suffer the most terrible catastrophes. We will shatter your nation and reveal the weakness of your peoples and then we will kill your children and your old men together. There is no escape from us.

Sciencerely
Alexius King of France

OOC: See thats much more impressive.

From le roi des rois
de l'ouest à empereur romain saint Joseph I

Well, most of my nation is in ruins. If it has eluded you I am fighting the strongest power and my comment was more a defiant one, not a threat. As stated earlier... I feel like Haiti or Grenada fighting the US ;) Now, behave or I'll raid and burn Bangalore to the ground :p

Dis, any reply to my diplo?

EDIT: Its not that bad, Harl, speaking out of character you can always try to flee for Australia or something.

OOC: The thought has crossed my mind, but I'm not confirming or denying anything. Wouldn't want to be intercepted by the Ottoman fleet ;)

Poor Churchill.
He's rolling, spinning, turning and twirling in his grave as we speak..

Forgot my story dis? Ah well, I guess I have to give up my expansions in Flordia and Louisiana for now, despite having very good reasons to be expanding there.

I didn't forgot your story, as you you can see your project advanced an extra turn ;). I did forgot to mention it in the update however :).

The south Deccan one? Well a) the situation is very confused, b) there is no immediate response, and c) you think they'll speak up when the land is full of angry Sinhalese?

@silver: I didn't spot any directed towards NPCs

Any repley to mine or is silence refusal?

Silence is deep thoughtfulness, but don't expect a reply any time soon. In fact, I'd rather reply by deed, not by word.

Still. Surely at least someone will reply? The angry Sinhalese are in a pretty bad position to look for every single secret messenger.

The Nan Ming eagerly await a reply from the Da Qing Empire to our proposal...

To Russia:
From the Kalmar Union:
We find your threats neither frightening nor justified. We have signed a treaty of non-aggression, and intend to stick by it, as civilized and honourable gentlemen ought. That said, we will not long tolerate such unfounded and insiduous outbursts as that with which your ambassadors have already disgraced themselves. The Courish rebels have been rebuffed at the court at Kalmar; content yourselves, and spare us your harsh and distasteful language, lest we become inclined to alter our position.

TO: The Kingdom of France
FROM: The Holy Roman Empire

Your continued diplomatic whining does nothing to change our impression of the situation at hand - indeed, it only improves it. You know, as well as I do, that your Kingdom, no matter how many Imperials or Aragonese, Savoyards, or Iberians it kills, cannot sustain a war with our combined power. You lack firstly, the economic might, and you lack secondly, in my belief, the reserve. Your diplomatic blustering only highlights the flaws of your character, and your inherent cowardice. You are on the defensive, and you cannot hope to shatter our nation - especially not when half of it is under foriegn occupation (and indeed, it is a good half, despite what you may say to the contrary. Your soldiers, ruthless as they are, shall be destroyed in war, and your luck shall soon run out. We have made a mistake, we are sure, but we learn quickly. Prepare, my good monarch, to meet your maker.

That is all, we wish no further discourse with your foul and uncouth self. The errors in your grammar and dictation cause us too much laughter.

Signed,
Emperor Joseph II

The King of France is in a desparate situation, that much is sure. And desperate men will ask bizzare things. I know you have both been approached by this man to aid in the destruction of our Empire, but I caution this - invade us, and you shall have much to pay. For even if we are defeated, you have very little to gain from our realms. I ask that you let reason and better judgement have the day, instead of ancient rivalries, jealousies, and indeed, greed.

Signed,
Emperor Joseph II

Ah but did you explain that reasoning to your populace ;)?

While our two empires have clashed in years long gone past, we seek to reaffirm the recent years of peace that have now gone by. We thus propose a NAP.

TO: Kalmar Union
FROM: Russian Empire

Your pathetic insults regarding the civility of the Russian Empire are most amusing for the descendants of longboat sailing barbarians. We would tell you to find a dictionary and check your spelling, but the idea of books in your lands is preposterous. Such a haughty attitude when your sneaking about the realms of the Romans seeking their opinion on the rebels is well known to us is most incriminating as to your behavior, and we shall brook no tolerance for traitors and scum. This is your final warning to hold your tongue and go back to your frozen fjords where you belong, before we change our minds.

Sincerely,
Император Владимир II Иоаннович
Imperator Vladimir II Ioannovich

To the Rus of Kiev:
From the Kalmar Union:

It is humorous to hear such talk from the mouths of those whose ancestors begged the great princes of our Varangian ancestors to come and establish order in the barbarian wasteland which, having been tamed and developed by Swedes, we now call Russia, and you now claim to be an empire. Of course, speach of any sort is humorous when it is in your horrid little animal language. We do not take kindly to attempts by Kiev, or any foreign state, to interfere in the free exercise of the sovereign prerogatives of the Kalmar Union. We are not yet fully inclined to support the Riga Congress, but every foul word you utter pushes us closer to recognizing them for what they are and what you are not: a civilized government for the former Teutonic estates. It is you, my dear "Imperator", who ought to hold his tongue, before we are forced to more fully reconsider our position.

Respectfully Yours,
Kong Christian VI af der Kalmarunionen
King Christian VI of the Union of Kalmar
