DisNES II "A Twist of Fate"

OOC: I was trying to say in a very circum.... ehm....roundabout way that if my men joined in your battle and got to keep the land we took, then it might have been a possibility ;)

We'll take your boats :p

Ah, I see. Well, that would have been very nice, but Southeast Asia recently settled all accounts (by and large) and is at peace. But we'd love to have a nearby neighbor of the faith, and once you found New Sinhala, let us know and we'll do what we can to help out.

(OOC: My response was mostly an OOC joke, but take the boats. I think I have 5 as it is. Who needs em :p But seeing as you managed to get here just fine, I don't think you do either ;))

Have you got MSN or AIM? Mine are on my profile, we need to talk.

To Ayutthaya,

I do not know how you came to the conclusion that Songkhla was Thai when a majority of the population is Muslim Malay as well as being part of the ancient Langkasuka Empire. Here is a chart which shows our offer and the position of Songkhla - which is clearly within our jurisdiction prior to the war in 1702.

We seek to cross your territory and acquire maps of the region to aid us in the search for our new home land.

To Sinhala Hijrah:

Most certainly. Your ships are welcome to our ports and you may make use of our protective convoys along the Melaka-Kuching route (you will have to ask Dai Viet for the Kuching-Macao route if you wish to use it) for the usual nominal fees (OOC: i.e. next to nothing).
We hope you find yourselves a new homeland - although you might not find it in the Eastern Reaches whatwith pirates running amok.
We wish you the best of luck.

Yours respectfully,

Putera Jamallulail Ascari,
Raja Muda of Malaya

Duli Yang Maha Mulia

We thank you for your kindness. Perhaps we can help each other. If you know where these pirates operate from, then we are willing to use all the forces available to us in routing them out. It would be beneficial for both our peoples.
No more raiding of Malayan villages or shipping and a new homeland for us.

With regards,
Prince Vihay

I do. Quite predictably, its Caligulating on AIM

To the Malay,

A mistake, nothing more. We will not contest Songkhla. However, we do not desire breaking the continuity of Ayutthayan lands. Even so, we will agree provided we are given the small strip of coast between Segenting and Langkasuka.

OOC: Thanks for the flag! And I'm confused, according to the first page map it lookslike pattani was under ayutthayan control?

We obtained Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, Pattani and Negeri Kra in 1701 (or 1702), can't recall which.

Regarding the strip of coast, I'd rather not because well, our objective is that entire isthmus east-west strip. We'll talk more on AIM.

OOC: I'm on AIM now, but I didn't see a screenname in your profile, so I'll wait for you to contact me.

Stats are done. This NES doesn't seem to be generating many stories

Last update has finally given me an idea to write about. Just need a question answered-
Captain Pham Van Dung was a Die Viet, correct?

Well, I'm Bananalee67
No idea where you are.. Haha
Since caligulating is on my list now.

Stories will likely come, but besides the fact that I'm a mediocre writer, I've had some serious mental block. Maybe I'll go editorial style or diary style...

So, just to make sure, and to say that we tried, you feel like surrendering quite yet?

Since you've been silent, we've taken it upon ourselves to make the first proposal.

We will sign peace if you give us the land of yours that we have surrounded (between the original border and Bhola). Should you agree to this offer, you will not have to pay any indemnities.

To: Ayutthaya
From: Gujarat

Such a treaty of friendship is acceptable. Know, however, that we have no plans to involve ourselves in Southeast Asian conflicts.

The Sultan seeks greater trade with all of the nations of Southeast Asia, and would agree to similar trade pacts with any or all of you.

Accept the treaty, Bengal... Accept the treaty...

It was our understanding that the White Malay were making a proposal on our behalf as part of their discussions with the Thai. We are willing to cede the provinces of Bihar and Jharkhand to you in echange for peace (the western two cities and most of the north), asking us to give up our capital is of course unacceptable. Speak now of the tributes you desire, reparations being an incorrect word considering you are the unprovoked agressor.

From Dai Viet
To Gujarat

Of Course we are will to trade, but the distance between our nations is so great that a formal agreement is unnecessary.

From Mataram
To Gujarat

We agree, may we all be friends under Allah!

OOC: Does no one want to join as the Dai Viet or Mataram? South East Asia is a happening place to be!
