Hey all, I'm new to the forums and had a quick question. Other than the obvious drawback of long wagon routes is there any other reason to NOT put big distances between your colonies. The reason I ask is for those times you find that silver patch but it's 12+ turns away. Thanks in advance! Shine on everybody..

Welcome to the Civilization Fanatics' Forums, EarthboundChild.

What I do is build new colonies close enough together that wagons can travel between two of them in the same turn (with roads, of course). That way if I have a wagon in each colony, I can haul that precious cargo of silver to the nearest colony where the silver is then transferred to the wagon that started its turn in that colony. The fresh wagon then takes the silver to the next colony on the way towards the sea. There the process is repeated until the load of silver has arrived in port. There it is loaded onto a ship which sets sail for Europe in the same turn.

I hope that helps you out.
