DLC 5 General Discussion Thread

They just updated 2Kqa_h with Civ GH. It's been 2 weeks since the last Civ GH update. This is the 4th update involving that depot.

No, there's no indication exactly when the Mac and Linux versions will be out. They have been updating those qa builds a couple of times per week. If previous patches are any indication, it will be in a few weeks.

No, there is no indication that a hotfix is being prepared for the PC build.

Expansion hype increasing.

Or they are really, really dedicated to getting the worldbuilder bug free ;)

Thanks @Eagle Pursuit for following up on updates and letting us know. We Mac and Linux people are of course sadly still waiting. However, I would be interested in your opinion about the Summer update. I'm truly worried by the many negative comments pertaining to bugs, etc. that I have read and these are minus the ones made carelessly by people who were playing with unmodified mods installed, of course.

It's definitely created more bugs, many of them quite frustrating. And the diplomacy dynamic has changed towards the more peaceful. However, there are positive changes in balance and quality of life that were much needed. It's a small net decrease in terms of enjoyment, but not unplayable.

It appears that a patch just went live for Mac users on SteamDB. Can any Mac users confirm this?

I thought Mac has a different numbering system? I thought they were on 1.0.0.4?

I actually went back and looked (as I know I originally said that), and it looks like the launch screen (which is I think Aspyr's) says 1.0.4, but the main menu of the game says 1.0.0.129 like the PC version.

Anyway, no update yet, though I can see on steamdb that the macbranch was updated, so I don't know what that means.

Thanks for your answer. It is unfortunate that there are more bugs. It adds a distaste to it all and opens up a lot of speculation as to why that is the case which only can affect Firaxis and 2K negatively. Over time, image problems due to quality can add up in fans and customers' minds alike. But enough, about that, although it is sad and unnerving. I'm glad that there are other positive aspects.

Actually, there are two numbers we are shown. When we launch the game from Steam, we get a small screen where we can press "PLAY" (I don't know if that is the case in PC's as well). Next to it it, there is a version number and right now it still shows v1.0.4. Once we are in the blue game menu itself, on the bottom left hand corner it shows another number which is still 1.0.0.129 (147571). Edit: (Didn't realize @bbbt had mentioned this too.)

My question is what made you think we were getting the update today? I'm actually thinking that there is a chance we might get it tomorrow or Thursday. But, most likely it would be next week considering that AspyrBlair responded to my post that the 2-3 week timeframe they have worked on before would apply to this patch as well. I hope they didn't encounter any other issues, however.

They updated the Macbranch build, which is the live build for the Mac version. I don't know why it didn't come through as a patch.

On Steam Discussions AspyrWoo said that the Summer Patch is close for Mac and Linux.

anyone finds those new notification icons for eurekas and inspirations useful?

No, I need the opposite. If I am close to 50 % of the research of one tech without the eureka I need a notification.

Forgotten switching of tech research is the worst cause of re-loading:badcomp:

I saw they updated 2kqa_g today - did they previously update g and h this close to each other?

Yes. When they first made them.
