I agree, let's build up our military of cats and elephants.
Might I add .... and maces
Anyway, I settled the GS.
Then we got a GProphet which I suggest either settling in Madrid or Barcelona.
Barcelona is because it is our natural wall street city (but that is very far away). Madrid is because any GP settled will have +3beakers (which Madrid had an academy to double it), and of-course the hammer from the priest will be multiplied due to this:
With machinery coming in, I started adding maces to the stack.
We are ready to declare. The southern forces should have an easy time:
It is the northern forces I am worried about. This is because Asoka had a recent war against his northern neighbor, so his defenders will largely be concentrated up north. Anyway, the two stack strategy has always been to confuse the AI, one serve to attract AI's counter-attack while the other to strike hard. So, chances are once we declare, Asoka will move his forces down south, opening a hole for our northern stack to grab a city.
EDIT: Hmmm ... missed a screenie: added below:
End EDIT
We still have the Artists ... could be used to quench revolt if necessary. Let's keep building maces, cats, phants and trebs (once engineering comes in). We ave some money to upgrade swords to maces if needed, but I suggest forget it, we need the money to sustain the war engine.
By the way, we have a Buddhist Pope.
- oh, somehow I forgot to save

hence I loaded an auto-save and replayed the last turn.
