DMI XV - Gorgeous Cathy (BULL Mod)

The Great Lighthouse is pretty expensive, but for the Colossus we have Copper as modifier. The font is named Segoe Print.

Imhotep

It's too loopy to be flat out Comic Sans proper. Compared the font imho chose, Comic Sans is almost respectable; not the sort of font one should sully the likes of CIV with!

Cheers!

the odd thing is, imhotep files all his legal papers in that font

How do you know that, did you run into trouble last time you visited Germany?

Nah, Pholk hasn't been back in Germany ever since that "incident" at Checkpoint Charlie 23 years ago with the Fräulein, the Knackwürste, and the KGB Directorate who couldn't find his trousers. Brings up too many bad memories.

Scabby Turn Report
I dialed down the tech rate to zero and started to save some coin. I also completed the stored settler (and axe) in Moscow and sent the Settler West to the indicated city between us and Tokogawa. Apart from that, I mis-managed our workers, moved a few 'irrigate' signs because they were irritating me (we don't have Civil Service so we cannot irrigate anything :().

Then ...

oh oh - he is our neighbour. Guess I should find out a bit more about him ...

Yeah - ok ... you can have metal casting you slimy bastard. You will be first against the wall when the revolution comes.

And just to fallstall those other bastards hitting me up for my tech ... or that first one trading it around ...

I thought that was the Sirius Cybernetics Corp marketing department?
yeah - I think you are correct. For some reason, I have a dim memory of a BBC TV character saying that to anyone (and everyone) who crossed him ... then again, it could be HHGTTG.

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy defines the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation marketing department as "a bunch of mindless jerks who'll be the first against the wall when the revolution comes", with a footnote to the effect that the editors would welcome applications from anyone interested in taking over the post of robotics correspondent

Strangely enough, an edition of the Encyclopaedia Galactica that had the good fortune to fall through a time warp from a thousand years in the future defined the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation as "a bunch of mindless jerks who were the first against the wall when the revolution came."

yeah - I think you are correct. For some reason, I have a dim memory of a BBC TV character saying that to anyone (and everyone) who crossed him ... then again, it could be HHGTTG.

Wasn't HHGTTG a BBC radio (and later TV) show? It's a bit before my time, but I remember seeing clips of it on a rememberance show?

It totally was! The first radio season was back in the mid 70s. It was followed by season 2, then the books came out ... the BBC movie, television show and then the american movie.

The story line for the radio shows and the books / movies is different ... apparently Douglas Adams couldn't stop 'fixing' the story.

Growing up in America in the late 70's and 80's, Hitchhikers was a series of books to me. It wasn't until college when I learned that it all started out as a BBC radio and was adapted. Severely.

They all revolve around Arthur Dent and the Earth getting blown up (in fact, it was originally called The Ends of the Earth as the Earth died at the end of every episode). Everything else in any one genre is probably only marginally apocryphal in any of the others.

According to Adams, all versions represent perfect canon, regardless of contradictions.

all this is very insightful and witty, but what about our settler dilemma? I say we settle and provoke the war. Isn't his UU in medieval times? Maybe we cud trim his sails a bit if he attacks and take him out later first thing....after babylon of course ~

I could really be in this cave.
You are in this cave.
Yeah ... and what a great cave to be in.

I'm so hip, I have trouble seeing over my pelvis.

I'm so cool you can keep a side of meat in me for months

Im so fresh i crinkle when i walk??

alright, ima settle and start a war :yup:

I think Toku will declare on us sooner or later anyway. We should focus a little more on military soon.

just fyi ~ i HAVE played, and built up military a bit and working on more. Toku, i think, has only one city perhaps as Kyoto is just outside our borders, and he's 2nd from the bottom in score. Hannibal is last and (again) *i think* hemmed in by a barb city if im not mistaken ~ which I have been known to be from time to time.

lemme edit the pics and i'll post the real report shortly

50 bc
So, i started off with the settling of course
