Running faster and faster. Come on get to cover, get to cover! Bato dove behind a near by pillar before a barrage of gun fire chipped through the stone which he had just jumped behind. His entire squad had been wiped out in an ambush radio and all. It was pure luck that he had got away. now he was by a church, staring at a picture of a grand battle between demons and angels. His ears were ringing so much, his hands were shaking as he clutched his rifle. A song kept playing itself over and over again in the back on his mind
Im coming home/so dont you worry he was humming at as he stuck his head out from behind the pillar and shot off a few rounds at the orange clad soldiers. Another barrage of gun fire erupted and chips of the stone pillar flew everywhere. Am I going to die? Silence for a while, they must be reloading! Quickly he peaked around the pillar and shot off a few rounds, being careful to aim at one man this time. got one! The man went down slow, deliciously slow, clutching his throat for dear life, blood spurting out of the hole where the bullet had shot through. Another barrage of fire then silence. How could they have wasted their clips so fast? He peaked around the corner again and almost got his eye taken out by the flurry of gun fire. They had been waiting for him the whole time. He cursed under his breath and pulled out the clip in his gun. Thirteen shots left, his lucky number. He smirked and shoved the clip back in his gun and loaded it. That song played through his mind again but was sharply cut off by the barrage of gun fire. This time it was at the pillar to his right, where a tall sleek woman had just rolled behind. She was Japanese with more of her hair concealed by the helmet of the elite infantry, the badge of the elite Musei Kyoushu Infantry on her arm and 3 silver insignia denoting that she was a Sergent. Damn she out ranks me
How much ammo you got? He yelled to her over the gun fire.
Two more clips, my side arm, one grenade and a knife she yelled back
A knife? Who brings a knife to a gun fight? hey you got a radio in those things he pointed to her chest with a smirk.
No reply from her, instead she took the grenade from he belt, pulled the pin out and then threw it out at the orange clad men. A chunk of concrete flew past him from the blast. Almost simultaneously the woman popped out from behind the pillar and shot 3 times. Bato looked out from behind the pillar just in time to see 3 bodies crumple to the floor, dead and lifeless. An arm lay right in front of him, a severed arm the body was 7 feet away, its entire left side blown clear off. My god! One man, whos leg was taken off, was screaming, looking down at is blasted leg, his hands shaking as he tried to find it
Where is my leg! Maa wheres my leg!! he eyes were bulging out of his head, blood splattered across his face mixed with the chalky white plaster and bites of stone embedded in his cheek. The other four others where dead, ones chest had a hole in it. My GOD!
The woman walked towards the screaming man and drew her gun. One shot, one kill. His screams ringing in Batos ears, echoing over and over again. MY GOD!
why
why would you do that we could have saved him! Bato shouted
shut up kid, there is a Dutch patrol on its way here, he would have given away our position and if you dont stop yelling I will shoot you She snapped back, her piercing green eye. help me pick up theses grenades off of them, and take their gun, you only got 13 more rounds in that thing
Without hesitation she began to pull off the ammo and grenades take that knife to, you will need it
how did you know I had 13
The AR-59 carriers a 30 round magazine, there were 17 shells casings around you, its simple maths, now hurry up and get rid of that gun soldier you will be using mine
what will you use? he said as he took her gun and began pulling ammo from the bodies, his hands were still shaking. The woman walked behind the church then returned with something that was a little longer than his leg, wrapped in a dirty cloth. A scope stuck out of the cloth as it shifted. Batos eyes widened, A sniper! Snipers were a rare thing to see in the Japanese Army only a handful existed, they were only in the elite infantry squads and all snipers were trained for 2 extra years, added onto the normal 5 years training of the Elite Infantry and those snipers would be the best of the best. The Elite Infantry themselves have to be in the normal army for atleast 2 years (Normal Infantry training takes 1-2 years). She had to be atleast 32 years old, and even then most of the Elite spend 3 or 4 years in regular army before moving on. What a deadly little killing machine. He looked down at the dead bodies, deadly indeed.
we must move now, the patrol will be here soon and I have to set up at my position, you soldier, will provide cover fire for me should we get into close quarters combat, understood?
yes maam
