Perfectly right!

That's why i never build more than a couple of these clowns and play Hittites as builders. OTOH a weak early UU is perfect for getting a GA just when one want (i.e. just after getting republic )

And, although you won't have Trebuchets, if you get far enough ahead of your rivals you might get Frigates

But if you are ahead at the end of MA, the game is no more fun. It's just a won game.

I have used the Vikings about two times just to see what that unit is all about. They were ok but I would still rather be the English or Byzantines as a seafarer. Why no Dutch you say? -- agri is too powerful.

Thanks for all your enthusiastic response! In the meantime I've played 2 games as Scandinavia myself. I must say they're ok, but Byzantines are definitely better at everything the Vikings are any good at.
