Technically, Iran is an Aryan nation, strange as it may seem. Lots of Arabs live there as a result of its theocratic Islamic regime, but historically it isn't an Arabic nation.

Well, lots and lots. There's alot more Iranians (in the linguistic/ethnological sense; Persians, Kurds, and what have you), and, IIRC, also more Turkic types, incl more Azeris than in Azerbaijan.

EDIT: To lend some credence to this statement, I have a friend who's half Iranian, and you couldn't tell by lookin at her. She's about as white as they come and she's a flaming redhead. I'll prob have a photo with her in it up on the member photos thread soon if you don't believe me.

How would we know she really was Iranian?

ObTangential: An Iranian guy I knew used to claim that the during the Arab conquest, the conquerors carried out a organized rape campaign in order to pollute the Iranian gene pool with dark-skinned genes. Now, I don't think anyone need invest much credence in that idea, but it says something about Iranian attitudes to the matter.

According to my encyclopaedia, Iran's 2002 population of 66 million included about 2 million Arabs, to be compared with 25 million Persians, 8 million Azeris and 6.5 million Kurds.

Iran not considered an Arabic nation. Many Arabs have sought refuge in Iran in recent years, because it is stronger economically and politically more stable than its neighbors. It's not heaven on Earth, but it looks that way for many.

Death penalty for sex crimes? Tragedy waiting to happen. Any woman with a taste for spite could get a man killed quite easily, even if that person was totally innocent. Hell it could happen to any of you guys, if someone was properly motivated to hurt you.

Rapists/child molestors almost always deserve death. The problem is that our courts are not 100% failproof, so I cannot support the death penalty for any crime.

I don't think they deserve death. That's a bit extreme. They're mentally ill and deserve to get help. And a long stay in a federal prison to get a daily human booster shot from a guy named Molly.
