Do you know how to keyboard (type) by touch?

That happens a lot to me, too. Good thing that Microsoft word would automatically correct things such as "THe..." :) Makes my assignments a lot easier.
Yeah, that feature is great. It also corrects things like adn, hte, and gerat. :) Too bad that Word is so much worse than WordPerfect, that I pretty much always use WP, which doesn't have the QuickCorrect feature. :(

Edit: Just realized that WP does in fact have the feature, although it doesn't have as big of a list of mistakes as Word, and AFAIK you can't add/remove corrections, like you can in Word.

I can flame in my sleep :)

And do most of the common emoticons as well by touch typing :p

Very useful when you are as drunk as a skunk (which doesn't take ME much alcohol to achieve :yeah: ) :D

It does correct teh, cgannon. It's one of my most common mistakes - and it corrects it all the time.

Actually, IIRC, I don't think it does by default. (Although I may be wrong.) However, like I said earlier, you can add/remove/edit the list of mistakes that Word will correct, as I have done, and therefore I'm not sure whether or not Word corrects teh by default.

Last semester I learned to type without having to look at the keyboard in school and it has really helped me.

It's kinda funny...This computer is sometimes slow to where you have to type real slow for it to show up. I type fast and it doesn't show up, but makes this loud BEEEEEEPPP!!!!! and then the words come out often missing a letter or two... :)

I have just checked, and in my Office XP version, it does correct teh to the by defalt. But it may not be in the 97 or 2000 version.

I just checked my Micrsoft Word 2000, and yes it does correct "teh" to "the" Might just be the 97 version then :p

Amazingly, posting here has made me a really great typer.

Now papers take hardly any time at all! My homework, if need to be done on a computer, is a snatch.

Sure I can, about 50 WPM, one of the few advantages of having a commercial education

I can pretty much type without looking except for the occasional letter that I have to look down for, plus I can type all the simple smilies. Strangely when I was typing this, I kept on pressing "u" when I wanted "y".

I ahve no prbolem at akll typing while loking at the screen - as you can see my typing is spot on every time . u nfortunastely, my vioson is very poor

No way. How can you hunt-and-peck faster than straight typing?

Probably because they use the hunt and peck method more often than the straight typing method.

If you are used to typing one way, then your speed can be higher with that way because it becomes more of a second nature kind of thing.

Yes I can touch type, thank god. Learnt by accident as a kid playing games...

I actually hate writing by hand now, and find the notion of a "tablet PC revolution" to be perverse, backwards and offensive.
