Do you play games in the Battlefield series?

I love Battlefield 2 and 2142. I play 2142 online and enjoy it. I was wondering whether anybody else here plays it. I saw some screen shots in the screen shot thread and wondered who else played it.

P.S. How would I post a screenshot of my playing? Thanks in advance.

I've played all of them..but the only one i dont like is 2142.....

To post a screenshot you have to first upload it to a website. www.imageshack.us works well. Once you've uploaded it you have to use image tags.

. If using imageshack the url you use is the last one.

Anyway I've played all the Battlefield games. Only player Battlefield 2 and 2142 actively now though.

www.photobucket.com is also a nice website. Unlike photobucket you get mroe options and you can keep track of your images.

As for the topic, erm, I've never played any of them although I hear that BF 1942 was great with the Forgotten Hope mod and, is it true that a lot of the noobs have moved from BF2 to BF2142? If so I would be tempted to try BF2.

I played 1942+expansions for a long time, would probably have it reinstalled on this computer if I hadn't lost the discs. BF2 is my favourite now, it's a great game. Problem is I've virtually lost all the skills I used to have when I started in 2005-2006, so everytime I try to get back into the game I get rather frustrated.

I played the demo for 2142 and wasn't particularly fond of it. I got some enjoyment out of the corridor-battles in the Titan's, but that was about it.

Special Forces gives you an extra unlock per rank. That's why you have more unlocks.

It doesn't matter whether you rank up in vanilla or Special Forces, you'll get 2 unlocks everytime in both.

I still play bf1942 or DC occasionally, but it's mostly BF2.

I've never played any games on line simply because I suck at games, and would be too embarassed to be eaten alive by good gamers. Can you play 2142 off line? Is it any good that way? I've heard that it isn't too good off line and that is the biggest reason that I haven't picked it up yet.

All the Battlefield games singleplayer component is a joke. The bots suck really badly and you can only play on a few 16 player maps. Also if you don't play online you don't get unlocks which means all your kits will be a main weapon (Sniper Rifle, Assault Rifle, Rocket Launcher, Light Machine Gun), secondary weapon, (Pistol, Submachinegun) and for Assault and Support a medic hub and ammo hub. Oh and a knife. This means no grenades, unlock guns, explosives, spawn beacons, squad leader drones etc. unless you kill bots who have them. Without multiplayer I probably would have played 2142 for a few hours then never again.

I guess it would be a waste of my money then. To tell you just how bad I suck at games, when I played Doom 3, I had to cheat, played Godmode, and then I still couldn't find my way around too well, and even at Godmode I had trouble killing the big bad dudes.

The Battlefield games are specifically designed for multiplayer, though it is a shame they don't have better bots for single-player.

To be fair, the more you play a FPS in multiplayer, the quicker you'll learn how to play better. I get it all the time in BF2 - when I come back from a lengthy break I'm terrible, but soon pick up the paces after being shot in the head five times in a row

The battlefield 2142 bots are so stupid. I thought it was a waste of money after I bought it. Then I played online. I was pretty bad when I first started but I picked up other people's kits and I started to beat the other people. Practice makes you better.

Although the bots were stupid, they are good practice for multiplayer. To be honest with you, many players online are just about as good as the bots.
