I have released DoC version 1.18.0.

You can find it on the CFC download page. Alternatively, you can download the installers directly from Sourceforge:
Using the installer is recommended because it includes a performance optimized DLL and optimized graphical assets, which provides faster loading times both when launching the mod and during gameplay.

I will follow up soon with another thread about my plans for the continued development of the mod (you can now find it here). I will of course continue active support for 1.18, so please stay engaged on the forum and report bugs, balance issues and other gameplay concerns.

Thanks for playing and have fun!

This is simply fantastic work. Congratulations!

This mod is incredible!

Throughout all these years, each version and update keeps getting better and more complete.

Fantastic work, I hope this new version 1.18 guarantees me and everyone on the forum many hours of fun, thanks to the efforts of modders here at Civifanatics. Old games like CIV4/Col4 with mods seem like new games (but optimized and complete, unlike what we've seen in this recent gaming industry).

Thank you Leoreth, for your dedication, DoC is a fantastic creation and version 1.18 will be too.

At last, the day is finally here... I mean, it just feels like another day after playing on the big map for a year and a half, but still, it's momentous! Hats off to you and everyone else who's contributed over the years.

How do I get the 1.18 icon to work? I have Civ4 on steam, but when I click on the Dawn of Civ icon, it says there is nothing there. What do I link the icon to? (Sorry if the question is vague, just want a shortcut from my desktop directly to the mod).

EDIT: I've also run into a CTD, "GFC Error: failed to initalise the primary control theme" - because I have the nightly SVN, I renamed the official 1.18 patch "RFC Dawn of Civilization 1.18".

I noticed that the Installer doesn't natively point to the correct game installation folder, so you may need to browse your PC to find where Civ IV is. (You're specifically looking for the 'Beyond the Sword' folder, as it would be installed within the Mods subfolder there).

I also noticed that the automatically generated shortcut doesn't work properly; the 'Target' field is incorrect and the 'Start In' field is left blank. This may just be an issue with how I've installed my version of the game, but if your shortcut isn't working you'd need to manually fix it, by right-clicking the shortcut and selecting 'Properties'.

On my computer:
Target: "C:\Games\Civilization IV\Civ4\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe" mod=\RFC Dawn of Civilization
Start In: "C:\Games\Civilization IV\Civ4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\RFC Dawn of Civilization"

Thank you so much - this fixed the desktop shortcut, but unfortunately the game is still CTD'ing due to the above mentioned "GFC Error". I did rename the folder as I mentioned, but I changed the private maps files to direct to the correct folder "RFC Dawn of Civilization 1.18", the folder is located thusly:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods\RFC Dawn of Civilization 1.18

The mod directory must be named "RFC Dawn of Civilization".

Okay, so how do I distinguish it from the SVN nightly version which you'll be working on?
