Preturn: I have fun sinking a Privateer with our bombers.

IBT: Sumeria and Japan declare peace.

1772 AD: Attempt to plant a spy with Sumeria. The Sumerians are not pleased. I am hit by pollution and we seem to have no workers to deal with it. I will build some.

IBT: Dangit! The pollution hit Theveste which has no food in the granary. It is now fixed, but lost 2 size points. (Our capitol is starving instead, but at least that had a granary).

1774 AD: Switch Theveste to a Granary. Go through and MM all towns that have 0 food or low to have positive food so a single hit of pollution doesn't kill them (where I can that is).

I am thinking of going for the war with Sumeria. Setting up for it...

Raise Lux as several deals are ending next turn.

1776 AD: Bombard Sumerian cities. Party lands on Sumeria to build a city. Cavalry kills Cavalry

IBT: A Sumerian rifle yellow lines one of our rifles. An infantry kills our infantry.

1778 AD: Attack on the Sumerian city on our island fails as a Cavalry dies vs a 1hp Infantry.
On their island we Raze Erech and build lol. Cavalry Army is next to the next city.

Moterized Transport Next turn (though that doesn't help much with no oil).

IBT: A longbow attacks one of our Infantry. Several units move next to lol (3 guerilla, 6 infantry, 2 longbow, 4 Riflemen.
Get Moterized Transport and Start Computers.

1780 AD: Our bombardment on Kisurra (the town on our island) is so pathetic that I don't attack it. Attack and Capture Isin. We will have Dyes when our harbor is built.

IBT: No Attacks

1782 AD: Red-line the units in Kisurra. Infantry kill them and we raze the city. We build South Port (the real name was annoying).
Bombard the Sumerian stack.

1784 AD: Work on destroying the Sumerian stack.

IBT: The Longbows and Guerilla attack and die. Harbor completes giving us Dyes.

1786 AD: Bombard and attack the Sumerian stack. Lose 3 units to red-lined units.
Destroyer loses to a Frigate. Destroyer loses 3 hp vs a Frigate.

IBT: Error on my part a Cavalry takes out the Airfield I built on the new island. Didn't realize it could reach.

1788 AD: Sumerian stack is destroyed.

IBT: Arrgh! I miss two town for happiness. WW is hitting us now.

1790 AD: Another destroyer is red-lined vs a Frigate. Those things are frikkin useless.

Notes:
The war is going fairly well. We should have oil soon.

There is an empty army our capitol built. I was planning on putting tanks into it. It is heading toward the battle fields.

Remember we are a Democracy. We just past the first stage of WW. The second is 100% WW and the third is going into anarchy, IIRC. We may want to make peace shortly after hitting 100% WW (though we may want to wait until we take the island.

I am building settlers but they were slow. Agade should be replaced (4 resisters), the town near the oil, and probably others. We may need more towns on settlers.

When we grab the oil we get tanks.

France also made it into the modern age very recently. They are the AI that is pulling ahead.

We can trade 2 lux with france for 65 gpt or so. Probably not wise though with france starting to dominate.

Fully agree with the War.
What's our research path? I'd like to get Fission ASAP, we need to know where the Green Stuff is. Then full speed to Miniaturization (Interent and OPlatforms!). Do we need to care about the UN at all? Guess it'll be between France and us, and I don't think it would be any problem to bribe Japan (if France would hold elections).

Oh, and at least we can build a NucPlant in our capital.

I was thinking of going for Miniturization next. Offshore platforms will be huge for all our towns that can only work 2 non-ocean squares and internet will boost research. We can always trade for fission if France gets it.

Given our amount of land once we have the Sumerian island, I am not very worried about Uranium. I think we will get some.

So I would go Miniturization - Fission.

I then like going Nuke Power, Laser, Robotics to further increase shields while trading for the top techs. Some games I like to rush to Modern Armor, but I don't see a big reason to do that this game with us going for Space.
 
I concur with Greebley. I would start the prebuild ASAP for the Internet, and then go for Fission. If UN is a concern, we just do the Ally the world trick, and the UN is delayed indefinitly.
Nice work on the war. Do we kick the Sumerians off their main? Wipe them out entirely? Sign peace after oil?

Clear their Main was my thought as well.

We are building a galleon in Oea that can be used for an assault on their lone northern town. We have several troops on Oea's island that could be used. If it takes too long to get the troops there, we can skip it though.

The island to the South though would take a while to get to and deal with and is probably not worth it as we will have high WW in Democracy.

For this reason, I would replace Sumerian towns larger than size 1 or 2 as we get settlers.
 
Abandoning towns in Democracy is a very bad idea. I would push for an immeadiate raze and replace in the future.
 
I thought that in Democracy, abandoning a city causes all the unhappy people in that city to move to your next closest city. I have experimentally found out that my closest cities to an abandoned city grow more discontent. However I have not tried it with C3C. It may be worth evaluating or even corroborating, but most people never use democracy anyway.
 
Ah, I get what you are talking about. Yes, the unhappiness will move. I think it happens in every govt type (I know it happens in republic, but can't think of "proof" from a game in Monarchy. My understanding is that it does though.

It moves to the nearest town so it will stay within the corrupt Sumerian cities. Which isn't too bad for us. We don't want to abandon unnecessarily, but when we have a reason to keep the city for its borders, it will tend to be worthwhile.

to speed things up I make a 2nd cav army instead of waiting for tanks, this is mainly because i need 4 move unit more than attack power of tanks (artillery and bombers kill everything anyway)

1796ad, turn 3:
bombard kish with artillery and bombers, then kill off 2 redlined infantery and a cav with marine and 2 infantery.. raze the city

redline 2 infantery in sumer (oil town) with atrillery, thehn kill off one of them with a cav.. dont have any units available to kill off last defender with.

1798ad, turn 4:
redline single infantery defender in sumer, then loose an elite cav when attacking it :(

harm the 2 infantery defenders, then kill off with bombers.. ur has expanded borders 4 times.. so even at size 1 it will be huge fliprisk.
it has 2 wonders.. oracle and sun tzu.. neither are veryuseful placed on that island.. the city is horribly placed aswell, so I decide to just raze Ur

bombard lagash.. have really bad luck, will hopefully be better next turn

1810ad, turn 10:
bombard lagash again.. bad luck again.. but 1st army kills 3 hurt infantery and goes to 1hp..

summeria is Willing to give us 2 of their remaining 4 cities in peace treaty

I forgot to write that I meant SETI to be prebuild for internet, since it will finish the same turn as internet is available.. I assumed it would be nice to have if we plan to continue with previous plan for space victory.. else can be switched back to army still (I think 2 turns of production would be wasted)

now that you mention it thou.. does internet require us to have some research labs already? (SETI doesnt)

I believe bachs is still available to be buildt aswell.. but music theory is still not researched
 
IHT: Disband some of our Numidians. They cost us gold and give us nothing. Disband a couple, and move a couple to reduce flip chances.
IBT: NOt much
Turn 1: Agade pops settler, refound. Builds concentrating on Science and production. Kill the 3 Infantry on our Island, kill the frigate and redline the galleon. Upgrade 4 Infantry to Mechs. We can get 2 cities for peace.
IBT: Not much
Turn 2: The Sumerian Navy now lies at the bottom of the ocean. France has rocketry.
IBT: Not much
Turn 3: Sell Joan Computers for 290 gpt, wines, and stuff. Computers alone could not get rocketry. Spend almost all of our treasury to upgrade a galleon and rush a transport. These will help us kill the Sumerians off.
IBT:
Turn 4: Capture Der. Will abandon and replace with next availible settler.
Turn 5: Lost a cavalry army and 1 mech Infantry to a super infantry. Artillary is fortified in Lagash.
Turn 6: WW is really kicking in. Trade 2 for 1 to Japan on luxes. MM well. Try not to lose anymore units.
Turn 7: Capture Bayonne and IVORY WOOHOO.
Turn 8: Capture Nagasu and Akshak and WW is no longer an issue. Lux to 0% MM for 1 turn. Sending bombers and fleet to Hippo.
Turn 9: We build the Internet in Hippo, and kick off some WLTKD. Our palace is fully filled out. Start and swap a lot of Offshore platforms.
Turn 10: Builder time. We should really think about getting up our Wall Street.
Also Sanitation could be nice, as some of our cities can grow nicely now. We could research Sanitation after Fission here, and build up enough gold to steal rocketry. We could also trade miniturization away for rocketry, teams call.
