How do squatter sites work?

I am not really sure. It could be a hack, it could be the owners didn't pay their bill, or it could just be an error. I suppose we will need more information to know what happened. I just checked again and the site selling knock off Chinese shoes is back.

Considering that the squatter was selling "Replicas" (i.e. knock-offs/counterfeits) of famous and luxury brand sneakers for nearly $200 a pair........

I predict this will re-occur, Solver also said as much, and the next redirect may be a browser hijacker of some kind.

Apolyton is unsafe until the security hole is fixed, and I will not be returning until Solver verifies this is fixed. Time to build up my CFC posts!

I don't remember this poster's name over at Apolyton but he would frequent the Civ III forum a lot. All I can remember of his profile was his signature, "Your friendly neighborhood negative cosmic force" and he gave great advice on how to play Civ III.
