Double Your Pleasure

I think I'm missing something, you're writing about DyP 0.90 but I don't see where to download! it's definatly not at civ3.bernskov.com I check that site every once in a while!
could you please tell this dumb dutch guy where to get that 0.90? :))

hmm, I'm a registered user there since the first week or so, but I never saw the screen how to setup to be a tester for DyP, though I'd love to be one.

I downloaded DYP yesterday and played the first couple of test games - great!!! Thanx for the good work!
I did have one problem/bug: the bombardment function seems to be broken. I tried bombarding a city with the powerful new catapult (several of them) and got absolutely no result: no hits to the defender and no message either (no 'Artillery bombardment has failed').
Is this a known problem? Sorry, I admit I haven't managed to read through the 108 pages here yet...

hmm, the DyP 0.90 is not PTW compatible right? or do I do something wrong during the installation? yeah well anyway, so much new isn't there at PTW ...I think DyP has 10times more new stuff in it as PTW :)) or maybe even 20times more stuff..btw, I noticed when you play standart BIC with minimum research time at 4 you research more as beeing able to build...and putting the standart to 8turns for minimum research time gives you much better options to build the stuff you researched.

I just got PTW and loaded it and then installed DyP for PTW. The version that shows on the startup screen is 1.04f not the DYP version. When I went to the editor to make a map, only the standard Civ3 resources were there as well as the standard units. What do I need to do? Thanks.

@Dragonlord:
I'm not sure the 'bombardment failed' message will appear every time, but I don't think bombardment is broken as such - catapults just have a hard time against cities, especially if they have walls.

@gslacy:
They will all work, but you will have to add them yourself for now :) We will be adding some more civs to DyP in an upcoming version, though.

@Connor:
If you installed the zip/exe to the CIV3PTW\Scenarios folder, you need to use the 'Load Scenario' button on the main PtW screen. There you should be able to find a Double Your Pleasure.BIX and when that is selected, you can see the DyP version number in the top-right pane.

thanks Isak, the information you provided to connor was exactly the same I needed to know too! :) I was already wondering were all the new stuff was but I was so ashemed for beeing to stupid to get it running that I didn't dare to ask :)

Never be afraid to ask - I'm sure I can out-stupid anyone here ;)

Thanks Isak, I ended up finally figuring it out. All of the DyP staff are greatly appreciated for all the work you guys have done and shared. It's kind of nice to see people on the net not trying to make a buck out of everything and just being nice for the sake of being nice. CHEERS:goodjob:

Any idea on when an updated huge world map compatible with PTW will come out or did I miss the boat on that one too?

I also tried setting up an account with the new forum, but they never replied so I could login? Any ideas? Thanks again.

Not all, but some times I try to set my tax rates and the keep going back to the originals so I have to change them every time. Is there any way I can fix this?

That sounds like the rate cap issue. If the rate cap is 60%, then none of the three tax areas can be set higher than 60%. So, if you lower science to, say, 10%, and don't change the luxury slider (i.e. it stays at 0), then the program will adjust the science back to 40% in order to reduce the tax from 90% to 60%.

I need some help. I was playing with DYP and I put in the Mongols mod. I didn't like it so I unistalled Civ. Now it says Component transfer error. I tried deleting DYP and all the other mods, but it still doesn't work. ANY IDEAS?

YIKES!!! That's why we recommend that you only play with the certified version of DyP and do not attempt any modifications (why would you really want to anyway :p ).

Just kidding. I would make sure everything is uninstalled completely and try the process all over. That should fix any problems you are having.

Then I suggest buyinig PtW, they have the Mongols already included. :) This should save you some trouble there. Then download the patch for PtW and the full graphics version of the DyP_PtW mod.

Spoken like a true supporter/salesman, Kal-El - maybe I could hire you to work on my mod. :p (sorry just giving back for another thread ;) )

Anywayz - speaking of PtW, the PtW version of DyP has just been patched to version 1.02x and as always the patch is available from the DyP Site

It fixes a few ... ahem... minor errors, like that you could build Trebuchet's, Bombards and Hwachas for free, and the fact that you was forced to retire even before you really got started.

It doesn't fix a few other issues, but we didn't forget them, I assure you all - I just thought these bugs were so important, that they had to be fixed right now.

All you non-ptw'ers, just ignore all this - the regular version 0.90 is going to be on hold for about another week - sorry about that :)
