Download and Current Changelog 1.4

Correct.

Are the icons on your files green checks, or red exclamation marks? If the first, it updated right. Second, it did not.

Their a mix of red !, green checkmarks, and blue ?. The main RiFE folder is a red !.

In that case, there are issues with how it updated.

Any ideas what they could be?

I decided to just download manually, but I'm still being blocked from researching mysticism and mining. I can't select them, but they still show up as blue.:(

I guess I can add them in wb but then I need to add it to the other civs too...I'm only blocked from getting those 2 for some reason, maybe from a tech requirement?

Wow, apparently my svn updates always have problems because there are always lots of red ! marks. The game usually works though.

DX I've downloaded it but it won't install when I select it. I double clicked it and left it sort itself out, now I'm missing a GB of HDD space but it's nowhere to be found, also neither of the two tasks are even running. :(
EDIT: Patch fixed it, thanks.... well it did partially, I still have to find those phantom GB gobblers
Edit: No it didn't help it just installed itself. I have a new Icon on my desktop that spawns 400 XML errors now.

User Patch 0.01Beta:

This is an edited version of the Mekara_CIV4BuildingInfos.xml file, it is for the latest svn patch and fixes an error where the controlling_trait is referenced in the said file where it no longer exists in RiFE, barring anyone who plays the mekara from teching mysticism or bronze working. To install simply extract the file in the zip folder to Mods\Rise from Erebus\Assets\Modules\NormalModules\Mekara\Buildings and choose overwrite. Make a backup of the original file just to be on the safeside.;)

The trouble there, is that the Mekara module isn't even there in the latest SVN version - they've been fully merged by now. ;)

So you'd be better off removing that module entirely.

Hi my SVN version reads as being updated to version 275, but i do get quite a few failures when trying to play. Should i be posting some of the save games?

All files and folders have green ticks or blue '?', no red anywhere to be seen.

Additionally trying to play as Hampsters always causes the game to crash on the civ selection page. I can select all other races fine, but the Hampsters causes RiFe to shut down.

Ty

iirc hamstralfar haven't been updated for latest svn version, so i think they don't work and you should remove that module ...

and if you have found a bug in svn version, you should report it in Bugs Forum

Hamstralfar haven't been working for a long time, I've got a version that used to work, I'm not sure whether they still do work or not.

sorry to ask but when the new version is going to be ready .i want to play the mod and i dont know if i have to wait for a new version

When it's done. Play the mod now.

what a great mod! i like the hampsters, scions and almost everything.

I miss jotnar, but i understand they are being reintegrated for next patch?

I wish hamsters had a world spell that turned all units into hampsters for 10 turns or so, and gave their own hampsters a combat bonus - remember the old warcraft, turning enemies into sheep? maybe each enemy has X percent chance to become a 1/1 hampster for 10 turns.

I am confused on modules but i will get the hang of it. Did you know i always get an error when using the RiFE Launcher to "Analyze and update" files?

These aside, this is possibly the best erebus! If only you had the "other" erebus civ's such as the Khadi or the Dao or the fey. I also keep getting really wierd crashes late game but i just assume its my system being unable to handle too much, nothing im not used to.

Lastly, maybe i misunderstand but in my scion game, i have Poisons, Drama, All buildings and i can not build/upgrade the "Emperor's Dagger" unit.

edit - i am using 1.31 patched to 1.31.195 with religions soundtrack.

you shouldn't use SchemaUpdater - it's only for developers - if they change one xml schema file, the program will update all other xml schema files in modules ...
it does not update the python files or data-bearing xml files of the modules or the rife itself

The Jotnar will be reintegrated in the future, but possibly not the next patch; More pressing is getting the other material done, the Jotnar can come in a small patch if need be.

As for the Hamstalfar... They're going away. I enjoy the playstyle too much to relegate them to "joke civ" status, as they are now; So, hamsters are gone and Gyldalfar are in. More or less simply a change of lore, playstyle remains much the same.

well, i will miss the hamsters, maybe you can use their leader for a civilization of anthropomorphs. Before you laugh it off too hard, there are enough "animal units" to make it work and i think in the civ 4 bts mods is an animal empire - would be fun!

The more serious civ looks pretty fun though, but it will be hard to wean myself from the scions or mazatl. I really like the fall further and MoM civ's like the faries and the khadi but this mod keeps getting better, and im happy that its getting support, i only wish there were things i could contribute but i digress i have no modding skills at all.

So, where do i find all the modules? I noticed in my launcher,

MPL (inactive)
(Jotnar (inactive)
BannorChainofCommand
Hamstalfar
Mekara
More Events

I like the mekara, and the more events but sometimes i get repeat events back to back, which can be great when i get a tech boost two turns in a row but game breaking when some of the better or worse ones repeat twice. Possibly the best mod, im glad i re-bought civ 4 complete just to play this, orbis, fall further and rfc. they should pay you a commission and hire you.

The Khadi used to be in, but were removed (rather, cut down into an Amurite-only event) as they have no uniqueness of their own; They were simply the Amurites, given a Sheaim mechanic. Far too much overlap to make interesting, without taking away from either of the other two civs.

The Faeries, on the other hand, will never be in. I just don't like them, too close to violating the princess rule IMO.
