Quit Pestering him!

Not pestering, just expressing an interest. My scenario won't be ready to add them for a while anyway, so i have no interest in bothering him to get the units now.

But if you want to think i am pestering him, go ahead.

Yeah, shame on you for pestering him

How are some of the Carthaginian units coming along DP :mischief:

ROMAN WAR ELEPHANT

I think Xen is trying to tell me something, but I'm not sure what it is.... :hmm:

So you want an armed driver, a javelineer instead of an archer, and a large standard on back? And no shielding on the elephant but cloth instead...

Okay, well, so as I don't get squeezed about my progress on this, I will simply say that it can be done, and it probably will be done... but I'm not going to say I'll do it. :p

I thin you should do it;)

reading up. the Use of roman elephants was quite a bi tmore extensive then mos tpeople realize- for instance, Elephants were features of two out of the 3 macedonian wars, and were presetn at the main two battles out fo the two of those wars- though I'm only certian that they were instrumental in one battle, smashing in the phalanx, an dallowing the crippilign weaknesses in that simple formation to crop up

 I thought the Manipular Legion was the death of the phalanx.

I believe you are correct Ozy. The Phalanx was ecclipsed by Rome's Legion strategy. Had Alexander the Great been alive, those wars would have been alot more interesting.

Especially since Alexander would've been like well over a hundred... ;)

A)yes, the ris eof Rome was occuring at the same time as the alexandrian wars- the differenc ewas Rome was creating a stable stat ein Italy, while alexander was creating a highlly unstable mess accross half the known world ;)

B)yes, the manipuler legion WAS the death of o the phalanx, on a whole- but that harldey stop other troops, such as cavalry, an dlight infantry, and in this case, elephants, from still providing important strategic support, and aid in gettign the battle done quicker.
