Not in Alberta though, I'm stuck paying the deposit fee on milk jugs. :(

Last time I went through customs, this guy was declaring 20 gallon jugs of milk because they were on sale in at a store in New York. /randomstory

speaking of milk, maybe you'll find this article interesting. China is going to GE cows to produce human breast milk. I'm not sure about the link here if this is legit or some prank or hoax.

Well, it says Fox. :mischief:

That's kinda cool, but not as cool as the goats (or sheep? I think it was goats) that produce spider silk in their milk.

I've tried to talk Lucy into mailing me some, perhaps in exchange for poutine gravy mix.

When did I indicate I was not willing to send you coffee syrup?

You didn't! But it just... it never happened! Though that's probably to do with me never bringing it up more than once.

I'm just not sure what to send you that you couldn't find there. Poutine mix? Nanamio bars?

I (usually) buy 3 litre bottles of ordinary milk from Coles. When I have more money, I buy Pura or Dairy Farmers.

Interestingly, when I lived in South Korea, I couldn't drink their milk - or even use it on cereal. It would make me sick every time.
Good times.

Your poll is missing Coffee flavoured milk and Honeycomb flavoured milk.
I had "waffle" flavoured milk once in China. It was pretty good.

I think they had better focus on overcoming lactose intolerance first, considering that human milk has almost twice the lactose content as cow milk.

I'd imagine it's an attempt to make milk more affordable, and lower the amount of parents relying on formula. There's been quite a few stories of poisonous formula, or formula made from chalk. Lactose intolerance isn't something you have to worry about in babies.

In times past "bags" have been tried here in the states, but it never really caught on. Maybe if the FDA pushed for it....

I have run out of milk so I will be walking down to the corner shop to buy 2L of whole milk.

I drink the green one.

This thread reminded me that I intended to buy milk tonight. Whoops. Guess that didn't happen. Oh well.

What brand of milk do you drink?

Tuscan Whole Milk, 1 Gallon, 128 fl oz.

Actually I don't care much about brand. Never had any bad experiences except Kroger's going bad before the date once.

What container size milk do you drink?

Depends. Stateside, 1 Gallon or Half Gallons. In Europe, 1 Liter or 1.5 Liter. Occasionally a whole liter at once, never a whole gallon at once.

What animal type of milk do you drink?

Cow. Although reindeer sounds tempting. I wonder if reindeer milk would taste better than cow milk just as reindeer meat tastes better than cow meat? :hmm:

What flavour of milk do you drink?

Regular ordinary cow milk.

What percentage fat milk do you drink?

Whatever percentage is available. Commonly 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, and whole. Stateside, 0% most often. In Europe, 1.5% most often.

What amount of organicness has the milk you drink?

Probably completely inorganic.

Or at least, not any more organic than regular milk.

How much milk do you drink?

If I had an infinite supply in the fridge, it would be a gallon every 2-3 days. In practice, I regularly run out of milk in the fridge and have to switch to water, so it's less than that.

What do you drink milk with?

Everything. Including fish. I do have a slight preference for water with most fruits, but I'm not going to throw out milk that I already poured in my glass just because I'm eating an apricot.

When do you drink milk?

It's a possibility 24/7, 365.

How have your milk drinking habits changed throughout your life?

I drank a ton of milk when I was young (through high school), more juice than milk in college due to convenience, and so far this year have upped my milk consumption again, at the expense of juice. However, due to the aforementioned milk supply issue, milk and water have more or less split the gains they made at the expense of juice.

What food do you make with milk?

Baked goods, most notably pancakes. And reheated mac and cheese. But not cereal. I don't like soggy cereal.

Do you consider milk from non-animal sources to actually be milk?

Kind of. It's similar but doesn't taste quite the same. I've had soy milk, rice milk, and possibly hemp milk. I liked soy more than rice, I don't remember if I had the hemp milk or not.

What degree of pasteurization do you prefer your milk to have?

I've pretty much just had it at whatever level the store has. I prefer unpasteurized apple cider, but haven't had unpasteurized milk.

Oh and I assumed the "Homo" option in the poll meant "Homo sapiens", not "Homogenized". So I didn't vote for it. Now I realize there already was a Human milk option.
