Drtad's First Peoples Mod: Includes Sumer, Babylon, Urartu, and many more!

For some reason, the xml components aren't working properly; they keep saying that there were too many errors... and can't run the mod. Can you tell me if I need an update, or if there's another conflict?

Are you using Warlords? The mod works fine on my computer.

Good job Drtad the proud Armenian, nice addition to the family.

No, just the first edition of CivIV.
That's the problem berserker, you need Warlords. Read the front page. Sorry, I may make a Vanilla version in the future. Thank you for your kind remarks Tunch Khan.

How would I go about changing civ-names (other than the one I'd play.) I think I have an idea.

To change other civs names, after you start a game, go into worldbuilder and save it as a Worldbuilder save. Then use notepad to open the Worldbuildersave, and you'll see the info about each of the civs, techs, names, etc. Change the names, and the result will be changed names.:)

looks good haven't played yet but looking forward to it.

Thanks, looking forward to gewtting some feedback of the gameplay myself. I guess its a good thing since when you get gameplay feedback its usually about a bug or something.;)

A suggestion: You may want to switch your current vulture for sumer for cafegio's because his is phenomenal and the current one is just a simple recoloring of the current spearman.

Drtad,

nice mod you have there, the fertile crescent map is soo much fun to play! pity the guy who ends up in arabian peninsula tho.

it's also cool you put nubians...i never thought someone would make a nubian civ but from the city names it looks like it's based more on sudanese nubians than egyptian nubians but that's alright, cause i think we have a lot in common.

Thanks for the compliments Masri!:) I have some plans to revive this mod, but based on my workload now those chances are slipping. Keep your hopes up though.

Hey Drtad, fabulous mod!! I am having a bug with the Fertile Crescent map, though. Whenever I start it, my Settler ends up in the same position no matter which civ I choose: On a rocky outcrop of Ethiopia he can't leave!

Also, when I load it into WB, I can see that the other civs are randomly chosen. They're in the correct historical positions for Fertile Crescent peoples, but they're America, England, Hittites --- a mix of vanilla Warlords and yours.

Any clues as to how I can fix it?

That is very strange, a previous user commented about how fun it was to play on that map, so I assumed it was working properly. I'll run some tests. The settler on the Ethiopian outcrop is really bugging me though. I tested it many times right before I released it, it seemed fine.:crazyeye: I'll figure out the problem.

Alright, after alarge foray into Rome Total War modding, I am back to CivIV, and I will be posting an update of my First Peoples mod since it seems to be popular based on the download count. A few changes I have made so far:

Armenian Unique unit changed to Armenian Kataphraktoi
Cimmerians under Teushpa added, Unique unit Khumri with unique graphics, and unique building Cimmerian pastures.
Possible another civ
Fertle Crescent map testing

@Gordon
I found the problem. I had uploaded the wrong map file. I am surprised noone else reported this after 312 downloads. Thanks! I'll upload the correct map later today. No more America in Iraq.

A small preview of the Cimmerians in the next version. Not the fake Cimmerians with Conan the Barbarian, the real Cimmerians.:)

EDIT: 0.5 is released!
