E3 2002: Play the World Movie!

I noticed El Dorkus was asking the questions...I don't think he understood a single reply

English might not have been his first language to be fair... :splat:

I don't know how the 'ruins' are designed to operate, so this is pure speculation... But it would make sense that when a city is 'razed' it converst to a ruin, which you could then 'clear' (rather like clearing a jungle) before you could utilize the land.

Amazing how much speculation such a short (indistinct) movie generates though isn't it? :)

The player setup screen on seconds 22-24 looks interesting as it can provide information on the civs in PTW.

Either I'm totally blind or the last civ name in the right column is Australia! Can anyone confirm this?!

He says that the scenarios shipped will be the best of the web (oh the memories of the bestonet folder), but if scenario builders don't have the full range of tools until AFTER PTW is released, how are these cool new scenarios going to get made?

The full scenario editor is going to be released as a patch in June. So Firaxis expects scenario-makers to get some cool scenarios done in the 4 months between editor release and PTW release.

Ah, thanks for the news.
Better than nothing I guess...

Oh man, this fall is going to be great......Age Of Mythology comes out, the new Marilyn Manson album's coming out, and now Play The World too!

:goodjob:

Life is schweeeet........:D

The demo guy is Jeff Morris, I think. :p

They always ask for permissions before posting player-created stuff to Civ3.com, so I wouldn't worry about that. Speed Bump has asked me several times for poster contact emails. :)

Actually, in that instance the nasal, whiny voice belongs to me :)(Jeff and I were splitting the days up while we were there). I have always asked permission before posting anything and I always will. Each contributor will get full credit for their work. Hopefully that clears things up a bit.

Why is there no grouping action for workers. Like if you could group together 10 workers for cleaning pollution in the mountains
and a group of say 3 for building mines etc... This would save a lot of time dealing with the workers.

Agreed. I've thought that this should have been an option since day one with this game, to be honest......
