[GS] Early game fun with "weak" civs

Egypt's problem is too much reliance on floodplains which might not flood, plus you need to build on them as well.
Flooding happens quite frequently. Regardless, the good thing though is they can get easy district clusters with some nice adjacency thanks to the floodplains. And as mentioned, they can do some fun Industrial zone adjacency stuff to get better production

Yeah right good old chop. I remember reading somewhere that chariot class was tied to either ranged or cav or both. I'm sure someone here has a better memory.

The cavalry production card only applies to heavy and light cavalry.

However that "ranged cavalry" really matters when facing anti-cavalry units, anti-cavs do gain +10 against ranged cavalry, both on attacking and defending.

UU chariots (Maryannu & War Cart) aren't tagged as "CLASS_RANGED_CAVALRY", or any cavalry class, so the anti-cav combat bonus wouldn't apply. Only Keshigs & Sakas.

Yes, The "Chariot" has no actual use. what matters is only "Heavy Cav", "Light Cav", or "Ranged Cav"
Which probably means they introduced a new type when designing Mongols and (once again) forgot to retro-propragate this change for the existing units.

Unless they decided that ranged cav could only be for light-cav based ranged units... Oh well, they do have trouble with building consistent and readable ontology. Their very main issue imho, because the consequences are that tooltips are not reliable, II is messy and it is harder to code refined behavior in an AI when the very objects to analyze are ill-defined.

So you either pray for them to flood, or build on them for miniscule benefits.

Nope. Catherine is not weak. She has a decent strength bonus. Also the early spy and the free level is good enough in GS.

Eleanor? Yes she is weak. Even her England is weak.

Catherine is not bad. France sucks.

Oh and you seriously underrate Eleanor.
