One of their cities is called "TEOIHUACAN"...isn't that supposed to be TEOTIHUACAN?
You're absolutely right, IP! I guess Sid can't spell. ;)

Do the other players try to constantly attack you?

Methos you can use notepad. Or pretty much any program that can handle text. Or get an xml editor (there are free ones).

I want to play as the lions and wolves

If you go into the world maker you can give youself all the animals you want-I did it by mistake-gave myself some lions-they have your civ flag and everything
but they can't enter your oun territory or any tile with resorces or cities-but they will fight-my first batlle wae 3 lions versus one egyption warrior-lions win! lions win! :crazyeye:

Hmmmm, this could make an interesting MP game. 6 regular players, 1 Barbarian player and 1 Mother Nature player. Granted the latter two probably wouldn't be around for long, but I bet the other players would have to think twice about their tactics knowing those two factions are human controlled!

Maybe a pangea style map with the players along the coast and the barbarian hoards with a few cities in the middle surrounded by lions, and tigers and bears. Oh my! If someone does make this mod and runs this game, I call dibs on Mother Nature!

Good find.

Might well try this and take some civilizations by storm!

Never trusted Sid in the tutorial... all the friendly smiles and such... now at least he's showing his true nature :D

I played a quick hotseat game with 2 barbarians - in leader slot - in nation slot you can choose between barbarian and minor - minor gives you a scout and a settler, barbarian only gives you a warrior. I had the minor nation found judaism. made contact with england and russia. I noticed that the barbarian animals seemed to ignore me pretty much... maybe that was just lucky...

also note for mp that that these minor nations can give their units promotions just like anyone else. and they can did produce horse archers that can get promotions and attack and take other cities so that one warrior could take and unguarded city and start producing more stuff.

well in that hotseat game, there were other barbarians [animals and later warriors] that I didn't control. And even the Barbarian barbarian civ was contacted diplomaticly when other civs were encountered.

I'm going to make a scenario featuring these two and may post it in the forum.

Saladin
Gandhi
Asoka
Roosevelt
Washington
Elizabeth
Victoria
Barbarian-Barbarians
Barbarian-Minor
Alexander
Julius Caesar
Louis XIV
Napolean
Bismark
Frederick
Isabella
Catherine
Peter

it would be more fun if mp could use scenarios.

okay folks, I posted the two scenarios in the scenarios forum. check it out if you want but remember to make those barbarians playable or it probably won't work.

Hi, I have four questions I would like to be addressed. 1. If you are the Barbarians-Barbarians do you for the entire game only control those two barbarian units? 2. Or can you control all the barbarians that pop-up. 3. If you are the barbarians-barbarians are there any other barbarians that pop up? 4. Lastly, can you attack anyone at any time?

okay I just played many turns of hotseat including both barbarian types.

the minor civ was able to catch up a little and build a few cities and get writing.

the barbarian-barbarians only get a single warrior - not two. and the ten villages they found gave them gold, experience [gave them city fighting skills], and 2 workers - no settlers! never found another city.

one of the hardest times in civ 4 would be barbarian-barbarian on like diety level. that's hard!

btw techs don't advance without any cities.

also barbarians that just pop up during the game - you don't control them!
if playing barbarian-barbarians you can gain scouts, warriors by a freindly village or taking over a city. I forced a city on them and it only produced warriors - no settlers!

Thank you hahntsak for answering one of my questions. In addition, I would also like to ask you what you used to edit the XML files for the game seeing as to how my Microsoft Office has not been working lately so I could not see if I could edit the files using that for myself.
