Thats right, you get to select the middle name of our baby.

This July (2005) my wife and I are going to be having our first baby.

Unfortunately we currently do not have insurance or the funds in order to cover all the hospital/doctor expenses, so...

Up for auction is the chance to select the middle name of the cutest baby of 2005.

Official document with baby's full name will be mailed upon birth.

We, as the parents, reserve the right to deny crass/inappropriate names, but we are open to most everything including company names.

Reserve is set at $8000 to cover all hospital/doctor/eBay expenses. All money raised will go toward the baby's well-being only.[/QUOTE]

more odd stuff being sold on eBay. the naming rights, just the middle name for a baby. i'm sure some online casino will buy the name.
What name would you submit to this couple for their baby's middle name?

They should pay me money to come up with a name for the baby

Scam!

I would give a middle name of something like ewouahrp;h ignjgna;wioh;eh.

Which would be cruel... Not that auctioning off naming rights is perfect...

Someone at CFC could buy the rights to name it and call it "Thunderfall"

How about....Jimbo?

Wonder whats going to be sold next...?

I'd give the baby a middle name of Wayne.

Lots of serial killers have Wayne for a middle name

John Wayne Gacey
John Wayne Glover
Keith Wayne Jesperson

to name a couple

On the index the title is shortened to something that suggests that the name of ebay is up for sale for anyone to change.

Fortunately no one in real life would make the connection.
I would assume that the child and thier parents would tell where he/she got the name.

I would name it "Myparentssoldapieceofmyidentitytoatotalstrangerforaquickbuck". Then wait and see if any issues develop between the parents and child.

It appears there is no agreement to keep the name...I mean, the parents can just go in a few weeks later and say "hey, we're the parents of Robert XXXSex.com Johnson...we want to change his name."

the story how the kid got the "eBay" given middle name, will be a story talked about with the kid's psychiatrist. will the kid keep the name or get rid of it? will they select the name even if it doesn't match kid's gender?
the world is filled with a bunch of fools and crazy people... now thanks to eBay they can interact and buy/sell odd stuff.

How about 'M'? Then people would ask him/her what it stands for and he/she could say just 'M'.

Which still wouldn't include saying that it was a CFC poster...

Excellent way to make a quick buck. Creative. But still... Soooo strange... :dubious:
