Maybe this belongs in bugs, but I'm going to assume it's intentional.

Apparently Khan is considered its own great person as distinct from a great general, because I just got one from a city state under the Educated Elite policy while playing as Siam. F-ING AWESOME.

*I'm sure this has been posted already somewhere but a quick search didn't bring anything up*

It's good to be Khan!

I've been mostly playing Mongol and they are handy but great generals are hardly the uber unit they were in some prior Civ. At least that's my take on them. A modest boost to attack and for the Khans to nearby healing which is really nice. They also stack with military units which is nice because the AI will pick them off if they can.

I don't think it's intentional. I think it's a bug. It'll be fixed. Enjoy it while you Khan.

If Corsica was a city-state, I can think of a Great General who came from one. ;)

So, if you play as France, you could have Napoleon the National Leader deploying his armies with... Napoleon the Great General. A clone perhaps?

Just call the GG Napoleon Bonaparte.
(at the Khan joke... :lmao:)

I am pretty sure that Khan's ability is intentional. Have you played the Mongols Scenario? It is def intentional there. Perhaps the code overlaps, and they did forget to take that out out of the main game?

How come nobody thought of that? We were all suggesting theories only to be beaten in one second.

Of course the Khan's ability is intentional. He is an upgrade of a normal great general, designed to keep up with the hordes when you're playing as Mongolia. What I'm sure is not intentional is getting one from a city state when it gifts you a great general and you're neither playing as Mongolia nor is Mongolia a civ in the game. That's the bug that will be fixed.

I was playing as the Americans with my leader renamed to Barack Obama, had the same thing happen to me. Moral of the story.. Yes We Khan!
