Elaboration of the point system?

If people continue to get warnings and bans then they should serioulsly consider changing their posting style or they may face a series of longer bans to the point of possible perm-bans from certain forums.

So it is possible to be banned from one forum and not the other? :)

they could move you to a group where some is hidden... like a reverse of where you get to see the secret mod sections currently.

On the other hand, if you see a post you think should be reported, go ahead and report it. Don't let yourself be guided by the thought that "someone else must have reported it, even if I don't see a warning". If nothing else, the report will go into a special discussion thread for that post, and may serve as a reminder to recheck the reported post/thread.
Make those discussions public, but read only for us peasants. Edu-tainment for the masses. A "Reality Show" forum for those of us who can't wait for Project Runway to start its new season.

What kind of information should we enter when we report a post?
Should I just type in the type of infraction like "advertising" or "trolling"
or do the mods prefer more detail than that?

What exactly is the difference between flaming and trolling? (Hypothetical) examples please?

Trolling doesnt target anyone directly but come insence someone:

Jesus was a homosexual

Flamings direct insults:

You suck!

And keep in mind that trolling can be flaming, but flaming isn't necessarily trolling.

Although here the line is pretty blurry.

I think questions like "when did you syop beating your wife" are also considere trolling. "Why do conservatives not support rasing the minimum wage when there is no logical reason not to?" "Which head disorder do you think liberalism is linked to?" etc.

How come do warning stay even though the point(s) have expired?
Unfortunately its there as a history. Though I personaly feel that they should disapear after a certan leingth of time because I dont want to even look at them in my own profile to be reminded.

If the reminder keeps you from continuing those actions, and therefore keeps you out of trouble, isn't that a good thing?

I don't like constantly looking at my past actions every time I look at my own profile. I am not comfortable looking at the wall of shame, bad enough I could not keep my New Years Resolution on going through a year without a warning/infraction. Sorry if I am whining.

CG...then don't look at it.

The only way you can view it, is to look at your userCP...

I've managed to spend almost five years on this forum, and I think I've looked a that portion of my usercp...maybe ten times...

that, and I don't really see how difficult it is to not get warnings in the first place?

C~G what on earth do you get warned for?
