Eliminate Post Count!

Thanks, Pellegrino. :)

BTW, I would rather have a hidden postcount for all, because it's weird but everytime I see someone with a higher postcount my one seems so small...:( I've tried to get rid of the feeling, but I can't...! :aargh:

As everyone knows it's not the size of your postcount that matters, it's how you use it. ;)

I cant believe that this is such a contentious issue.
I agree with Aggie and others, put it in the member details.
Obviously seeing such high numbers is detracting from people's ability to enjoy this site.

I like being able to see the post count. I tis one of the few things that give my sad life meaning.;)

Yeah, great... Another PC thread....

If the PC is shown, people will start asking the mods/admin to hide it.
If the PC is hidden, other people will start asking the mods/admin to show it.
Either way, there will always be threads like these...

Personally, like Aggie said, I prefer hiding the PC and only showing it in the member list (just to see who spams most). :)

Why not? It's one of the few sub-forums that I actually post on :(

Is there any reason for this?
I believe the guys who asked for the forum, particularly wanted the PC to be disabled, so as to escape closer moderating... :ack: Also as a sweetener (of sorts) to get TF to open the forum.

And also to discourage posters who're disinterested in the game itself, but are PC-obsessive, fr participating (and disrupting).

Imagine all those thousands 0 PC guys who have been here for a year then somehow found their way back into this site, upload their custom avs and then disappear...
Wow, yeah! Imagine if 1000 of them did it all at once! That's a whole 4Mb of extra space!!! How ever would the servers cope!!!!

Or if your problem isn't with server space what is it about?

And now that I am officially moderating that forum along with Matrix, I can officially crack down on some of the pure spam that has appeared there.

How about letting the users decide if they want thier post count shown. If ya can do it with the location it should not be too hard to make an option each person could control themselves.

Lurker of more than three years. This is probably my first and last post until I can hide my post count.

Of course its Counterfeit. Counterfiet would not be real would it:(

Is not that at all Hygro. I do not wish to get involed in this game.
Wheather you want to accept it or not, your status at CFC IS defined by post count. I have no need for status here.

Guess you will just have to take my word for it Silverflame. Does not matter if you belive me or not.:soldier:

When you get close to 10000, you stop wanting "all to see". ;)
Why?

I asked TF to get my name changed too, but that never happened...
What name?

I love my post count, and while Cgannon may want his to go away, I enjoy displaying mine for all to see :D it may be a meaningless statisic to some, but for me it represent how many thoughts, how many little individual peices, little contributions one has made to this site, and what makes the site so great :)
Until I read this I've been pro postcount. Now I'm not so sure :p

I'll always remember you as the ISDG-only poster with 170 posts ;)

Ah jeez you're crazier than Xen! Why would you care either way? Having been here for 3 years, you could have a high post count (if your reasoning is that you feel inferior or something weird like that), or you could rarely post and not care that the number's low. I don't understand.

Anyway, my position is that I like postcount, though I wouldn't mind it be hidden unless viewed in the profile. As you can see unlike one of the guy's I quoted, I'm not much a spammer having consolidated too many posts into one ;) (thus my post count oppinion should count for more :D)

Oh I see.... Eliminate the rif-raf then you get this forum all to yourselves.
Is that what you want? Do you want to go back to the bottom of the forum food chain. DOnt you know what that means?
No more banning people.
No more moderating with witty one liners
No more posting evil smilies at the end of a post to intimidate us poor little posters that get scared soooo easily.
No more hinting about a secret staff fridge.

Is that the life you want? I dont think so. You know why?
Cause you need us. We posters give you moderators a reason for living. Without us you are US!!

The only way post count can be eliminated, is by eliminating the source i.e. the posters. :ack:

You've been around Lefty for too long, I think... ;)

Well, this thread is about eliminating postcount... That's the only way to stop posts fr existing... :ack:

Well, replace "Vocal" with "Oral" and you could be a porno star!

Have you seriously been lurking here routinely for three years? Knowing that makes me want to register at GameFAQS (lurked there for a year), but, nah I won't.
