Embassy to Team Quatronia

With Combustion - Has oil been revealed yet. I did not think so.
Good point. Oil becomes visible with Sci Meth. I guess the thing to see will be whether CDZ actually gives Combustion to Quatronia. If they do, and Q gets Sci Meth, the Sirians Navy may be in big trouble.

Either way, I think everyone will be after Sci Meth soon, so we should claim it next turn.

Yes, they finally started to fight for their life. Last time I checked they were in slavery, but not nationalism.

Quatronia is still slaving, but it is spooky that Sirius has taken none of their cities. Our Galleon is almost in range to see what is going on, but I suspect a doublecross:( It is at least obvious that Sirius has not truly invaded Q.

Maybe this attack, and the few naval battles are simply a clever gambit to get us to choose sides. We DoW Q or Sirius, and then Sirius quickly techs Assembly line and invades us with Infantry.:( Sirius is stacking gold, possibly for a quick suprise upgrade.

It is truly strange that no one has contacted us about the DoW on Q:confused:. To me this is an indication that somebody is trying to play us for fools. IDK whether this is Sirius, Q or CDZ, or all of them together, or some combination.

Got a PM from Q. Here is the PM and my response PM to cav scout:

Sommers,

Can you give us a some intel about Sirius forces in and around those two form er mav cities next to our home island? We have been in a naval cat and mouse with them and i'm trying to cut off and kill their fleet.

Techwise what are you guys going after? We will have scientific method in 4 turns but I noticed Sirius has that now... can you get that from them before you DoW? Would save us both some beakers. Also, do you know if CDZ is seriously going after combustion? Destroyers are going to be huge. If we can get them first and wipe out the Sirius wooden ships it will gets us way ahead in the naval race.

-Cav
Hey cav,

Sure, Sirius has a medium sized invasion force in those two cities IIRC about 15 units each. The stacks are all advanced with equal amounts of Cavalry, Rifles, and Cannon. I would avoid chasing Sirius Navy around as they have Navigation II ships courtesy of CDZ, so you can't catch them.

Instead, put your invasion force together and Land on their home island where their defenses are weak. That way, you force them to engage you rather than chasing them around fruitlessly while they get better and more ships.

As far as tech goes we will try to get Sci Meth but I think Sirius is suspicious of what we are doing next. That is a big part of why they did not invade your home island. When they DoWed you, our turnplayer rushed all our Cavalry from Marthaton to the center of Starland to assist you if needed. Anyway, when I get home I will doublecheck that info you wanted as well as offer Economics to you.

Don't overestimate the value of Destroyers, remember, you need Oil to make those, and if this map hold true to past patterns, I suspect that Oil will be scarce and easy to control.

Sommers
I forgot to add that CDZ gets Combustion in 2 turns.

Also, we need to find way to speak with the seemingly mute guys at CDZ. If they are so proud and honestly keeping their agreement and putting in to account the hate of one of their players with Lord Parkin, I think it is still possible to have them on our side instead of they join Sirius.

On the other side, Sirius possessing ex-CDZ galleons is very very disturbing for me. The explanation that they just bought them with money makes no sense to me, as while would CDZ accept money, if until now we were sharing all techs in the ETTT and if they needed money, they have to just stop teching for few turns instead of selling their self-made ships?

Also, do you know if CDZ is seriously going after combustion? Destroyers are going to be huge. If we can get them first and wipe out the Sirius wooden ships it will gets us way ahead in the naval race.
I agree also that destroyers are going to be huge on this water based map.

On the other hand, who Cav Scout points as "we"? Amazon and Q, or Amazon, Q and CDZ - I mean - do they count CDZ as possible ally against Sirius?

If Q dont know when CDZ will have combustion, maybe they are not close and sharing information, but this may be not the case - they dont know what we are teching too, despite we think of each-other as friends.

This brings me again to the point - how we to get CDZ finally to have a stance? (or at least we to know it)

Sent this PM to cav scout:
Sorry our turnplayer rejected the tech trade. He wanted to check the map and wasnt exactly sure about the status because of course Sirius is whining that they dont want us to give you Sci Meth.

Of course I logged in and reoffered the trade you proposed. Feel free to accept it:)

Got this PM reply:

Sommers,

No worries on the tech trades. We were one turn away from finishing Sci Method but getting the trade from you guys collectively saved us some beakers. :) We are now going after Physics. If you or CDZ are already going after this one let us know and we can switch to something different.

Regarding Sirius- It looks like you will have Merlot finished off soon. I know you and CDZ are planning on attacking Sirius at 1500 AD. The sooner the better! You should be aware that they have oil and destroyers now off our coastline. Your ironclad near us should seek shelter before you DoW them or it will be sunk.

I was able to kill two of their frigates without loss during our naval "cat and mouse." But now that they have destroyers our fleet is in hiding in Continuum. Once we can get oil we will upgrade our fleet and take out their vessels. If we try to sail for their home island now though we will just get sunk. Oil is critical so we can first neutralize the Sirius fleet and then safely sail towards their home island.

I noticed you guys have a city right on top of some oil. Would you guys be willing to lend it to us for a bit? We would upgrade our fleet en mass and then surprise the sirius ships before they have all upgraded.

-Cav
I think we have to give them Oil if it allows them to surprise and destroy the Sirius Navy, because then Sirius will be defenseless against Naval invasion. However, we cant commit to this unless they can actually puill it off because Sirius will likely DoW us as soon as we do this.

I think we can/should give them oil. Could we maybe use this to get some bargin out of the deal - I am thinking along the lines of them teching sushi for us.

They also mention that us+CDZ plan to DoW on Sirus at 1500 - where does that idea come from?

Just to mention that CDZ are researching Phisics and are at 1/3 done.

Hey cav,

Just a heads up that CDZ is already after Physics. We are upgrading but we have our tech set to Biology. Maybe you guys should go ahead and get Assembly Line? Have you heard from them recently? You said that they confirmed to you they will DoW Sirius this turn? Seems unlikely, since their military is still so small. Anyway, give us a few turns to get units into defensive positions on Comet and Anjennida. In the meantime, do you think you can bait the majority of the Sirius Navy close enough to destroy or decimated them with a massive upgrade?

Or are you saying that after you upgrade you will have enough defensive strength to protect an invasion force all the way to the Sirians core cities? Let us know so we can decide whether to gift oil now or build/upgrade some Destroyers first. Also, what are the chances of you landing and capturing the two Sirius cities on Comet with Oil. You could land on Comet in one turn without risk to your ships right? If you took that oil, they would only have one source left.

Not sure what CDZ is up to. They rejected our request for resources to help with health/happiness. But they have traded techs to us faithfully when requested. We will switch off of physics.

I don't know what the overall Sirian naval situation is but they seem to have massed many of their ships near us. They have 5 destroyers, at least 2 frigates and around 6 east indiamen in the vicinity. They have already started blockading our waters with 3 of their frigates. We have lost the ability to move from our island to the star.

If you could gift us some oil our first priority will be destroying their fleet and regaining freedom of maneuver. After that it would probably be a good idea for us to take those two nearby cities so we can deprive them of an oil and you can get yours back.

We see that Sirius has invaded, but has not attacked yet. We will come to your aid with our forces and DoW Sirius either this turn or next turn depending on logistics. Please try to hold them off until then.

Noticed that you guys never switched off of Physics, CDZ is teching Assembly Line IIRC or was it Artillery? Either way, we will steal Artillery from Sirius in about 6 or 7 turns. We cant tell CDZ, because communication with them is just impossible:(

Sent this to cavscout, VIA PM:
Hey cav,

We are attacking Sirius next turn. We will sink all their transports that are stacked in port so they can't reinforce the SoD on your home island anymore. We need you to hit their SoD before the turn ends or at the beginning of next turn with all your siege units and destroy as much of their stack as possible this turn. This will decimate their army and leave them with small defenses. Please it is so important that you destroy those Artillery as this is almost all the siege they have. We can see their cities and they have almost all their siege in that one stack. Also, they get Infantry in 3 turns so its now or never.

Lastly, I mis spoke, CDZ is going for Flight and will have it in 20 turns. We have Biology now, so request it in game if you want it.

Sommers
Hopefully they do not wait, as I am concerned Sirius will destroy their stack which would be a disaster:(
