Embassy to Team Sirius

Guys, we need to decide/coordinate with CDZ the terms for surrender of Sirius.

My concern would be if they agree they could work some good diplo and get the other teams to all gang up on us later. I think our best option is probably to beat them slowly so that we have time to build up our massive number of cities so that we are truly unstoppable. If we do make a peace deal we need to do it in a way so that the next war is not against us.
damnrunner makes a valid point that I had not even considered:goodjob:

Once we make a peace deal with Siruis, obviously we will then be the strongest team with the highest score. Q will be stronger, and CDZ will be stronger. Then we might be the target.

However, we are in a difficult position, because everyone on Sirius has been forced out by Blubmuz except Alphashard, and AlphaShard only wants to play if we allow him to surrender. So I think if we want to keep the game alive, we need to at least open up peace negotiations while we continue the War. Maybe start out with our best case scenario proposal and negotiate down from there as Sirius negotiates up.

What we need from them, is enough concessions that we will be able to beat them peacefully, which we cant do right now. This is what I propose we offer as terms for the Sirius surrender:

1. Sirius must agree to re-enter the ETTT with full tech sharing
2. There will be a probationary period of 30 Turns, where no one in the ETTT will give Sirius any tech, but Sirius will be obligated to share all tech. After the 30 turns period ends, and Sirius good-faith has been proven then Sirius will get all tech from the ETTT allies.
3. Sirius will give 1/2 of all Military, and Naval units they currently control to AMAZON
4. Sirius will give all Great People they currently control to AMAZON
5. Sirius will pay AMAZON 400 GPT for 100 turns
6. Sirius will gift all cities on Comet and Anjennida to AMAZON
7. Sirius will gift all cities on MavsHI to Quatronia
8. Sirius will pay 200 GPT to Quatronia for 10 turns
9. Sirius will pay 100 GPT to CDZ for 10 turns
10. Sirius will sign a NAP with all civs for 50 turns

This is what I propose we send to them as conditions for their peaceful surrender. My rationale is that we did the majority of the fighting, and lost the majority of troops, ships, cities, people, etc. Q was next on the list, and CDZ never even DoWed Sirius, but they did at least deny them tech, and send us units, so they helped too and deserve to get something.

They may balk at some of this, but that is what negotiation is for. In the meantime we can continue fighting, but at least if we are woring towards peace, AlphaShard has some incentive to play.

He has shown a willingness to be reasonable. We must do so as well. General, you should present the surrender terms to them, if they seem appropriate for a starting point.:)

:) At first, I will send PM to AS that he must log in and take Sirius from the AI, so they are not screwed any more by the AI. When he do this, he will be already committed to play and he will have the opportunity to see what the incompetent rule of Blubmuz have done to their once thriving nation and what damage we did to them and he will be more up to date with the situation as a whole, so he can judge and decide on the peace terms.

Just then I will propose them our terms for surrender (which will give us some more time we to discuss them, as I see some obviously unacceptable points there (400 GPT for the next 100 turns to mention :) ) and then I will hopefully accept AlphaShard's sword as he surrender team Sirius to the mighty Amazons ;)

I believe we with time to build and grow (Sid's someone?) in peace and planning carefully, we can outproduce Sirius. About the other 3 attacking us at some point, I dont see how we can prevent this beside having strategical positions/cities and keeping formidable army.

Sounds good?

Sounds good, except that we have no idea what damage has been done by AI to Sirius, but also to our forces and Qs while no one was logging in. Maybe we should request a reload to let AlphaShard take over from before Blubmuz rage-quit to AI.

But first yes, tell AlphaShard we are ready to make peace talks and he should log in and take Sirius off of AI.

You send please. They probably tire of my whines;) Just make sure AlphaShard agrees to take over first.
BTW forgot to post this:

Hey Sommerswerd,

Ever since Maverick Island Blubmuz has been mucking up our military forces. Unfortunately I don't think I am much better. I sent an email to your Amazon account at gmail but never got an answer. I was asking for peace because I know in a war you would defeat me I am sure.

I haven't even logged into the game not wanting to see the devastation he has brought to my teams hard work. I think several of my team players quit or stopped because of him.
Thanks for responding AlphaShard :),

We actually just got your message. Our diplomat hadn't checked email in a while. We didn't respond though, because you sent another message that just basically said "forget it." So we were confused about whether to respond or not. I figured Blubmuz had forbidden you to make peace.

I actually thought Sirius was going to just stay in the alliance and win a Space Race, but I guess that was not on Blubmuz agenda.

Well now that he has quit can you please just take over? Maybe others will come back now that he's gone. It's such a shame to waste everyone's time for a year to end like this:(

I am also looking for Turnplayers to join Sirius to help you, so take over please OK? Help is on the way. This game has been so fun. Let's not let it die.:)

I like Sirius proposal, though am concerned it could upset Q and CDZ. The 400 gold for 100 turns might be too big of an ask when they far getting far less.

This went to AlphaShard via PM:

That was because Blubmuz hadn't quit like I thought he had. It seems like he finally has though. I wouldn't mind playing for one of the peaceful victories.

Greetings AlphaShard of Sirius,

Here are AMAZON's peace terms:

During the probation period, Sirius must run their tech slider as high as possible. No slider on culture or espionage.

3. Sirius will give 1/3 of all Military, and Naval units they currently control to AMAZON

4. Sirius will give all Great People they currently control to AMAZON

5. Sirius will gift all cities on Comet and Anjennida to AMAZON

6. Sirius will gift all cities on MavsHI to Quatronia

7. Sirius will pay 100 GPT to Quatronia for 30 turns

8. Sirius will pay 100 GPT to CDZ for 30 turns

9. Sirius will sign a NAP with all civs for 50 turns. The NAP requires Sirius to abide by the terms of the treaty. Also, Sirius may not build military units of any kind during the NAP. Sirius will not run the Nationalism or Slavery civic and Sirius will not run the espionage slider or use spy specialists.

We look forward to resuming our friendship.

I think we have a severe miscommunication on who the wronged party here is. Since Amazon declared on Sirius I do not see why I should give up any cities on Anjenda. We declared on Quat so I will concede to give them gold and cities on Comet. However Merlot Island is a different matter entirely. I also do not see why I should give any gold to CDZ. I also do not see how giving 300 gold and having 100% science slider is even possible.
So as 2metra predicted, they don't want to give up Anjennida. So I think what we must do is take Anjennida by force, and the re-offer the terms.

It is funny that he talks in terms of who is morally right (Who the "wronged" party is) when Sirius is the one who betrayed the ETTT. Anyway morality is irrelevant. They are losing the war and must surrender, which means they must give in to demands of the victors.

Anyway this is probably better for us, because we can capture Anjennida in a few turns anyway.

I suggest this as a response:

We are offering these terms as they reflect the situation on the ground. We believe capturing Coment and Anjennida are well within our capacity. Giving Q the MavHI is compensation for backstabbing and taking advantage of their earlier efforts to soften up the defenses. CDZ should be given gold as they diverted production and commerce in order to support the war effort.

If we stay at war you will be defeated and it will be a slog to play through on your side once we start breaking your economy with spies as we did to Merlot.

Just got another message from AlphaShard

I have logged in and will gift the cities of Orion and Alderbaran to Amazon, the remaining cities will go to Quat. I have also made the peace offer with 100g to Amazon and Quat, once those deals are accepted I will make the city gifting.

Finally I have deleted all the artillery and a few other units, I am not the best with math so I am not sure what 1/3 would be. I will delete more next turn once the peace is signed.
I dont know where Orion and Alderban are, but I would guess that they are the two larger cities on Anjennida.

I dont know why he is already deleting units when we demanded them to be given to us:confused: Maybe he is not wanting to give military units to the enemy, but he is also not wanting to end another turn at war with us as he knows we will continue to attack him.

Anyway what do we think? Should we accept the offer he is making? At very least, we need to know what he means by "the rest", when he says "the rest goes to Quatronia". At least he seems very eager to make peace.

EDIT: NVM its not the Anjennida cities:(

I checked the Turn log screenies. Alderban is on Comet, and I am guessing that Orion is the renamed "Spot B" city. So what they are proposing, is that we will split Comet with Quatronia. To me this is unacceptable. I would rather just let Q have all of Comet and we take all of Anjennida, and they can keep Mavs HI.

So We could either reject their offer of peace in-game and take Anjennida by force, then demand that they give Q all of Comet, or we could reply to them that we demand Anjennida for AMAZON and Comet for Q and give them some time to respond before we log in and reject their proposal. We could offer to let them keep the Gold they were going to give us.

What we can legitimately tell them, is after they backstabbed Q, we just cant trust them to share a landmass with us. The way their Anjennida city culture presses against the gates of our Anjennida cities exposes us to a sneak attack, and we can not trust them after what they did. Blubmuz could return at any time and take over to sneak attack us, and we know that he does not honor treaties. So we must protect ourselves by insisting that they leave Anjennida entirely.

If he really did delete their Artillery then that was foolish, especially to delete the Artillery and then reject our demands :p

or we could reply to them that we demand Anjennida for AMAZON and Comet for Q and give them some time to respond before we log in and reject their proposal.
This is the way to go

I am not sure whether your plans fit into our "noble" and "honorable" playing style you guys promoted so far.

I am against any sort of sneak attack.

Alphashard took over to play more peaceful and to let the game continue. Now you are planning to kill the game again.

But then again, I am just a lurker.

I dont plan on sneaking at anyone. We are technically at war and the peace needs to be good for us, not just peace at any price. We have the right to it, as we won the war.

Is AlphaShard serious player and not dropping like Blubmuz is another story. We cant let Sirius keep their advantage and been able to win Space easily in absolute safety, as once peace is signed, they will be safe.

We fought hell of a war to crush them and now when it is the time we to harvest the fruits of our efforts, we cant let them get away with almost all of their belongings and still be more powerful than anyone else, despite they were defeated in the war. Now is the time to make the things clear :) We won, we want our bounty and we are well deserving it.

I agree with both parties. We can't sneak attack Sirius, we don't attack now but move our forces so we can attack any minute if they dont agree to our terms. The message of Sommers is very clear. Give us those cities or will take them by force.

He is acting very, very smart in this BTW. He said he is deleted artilleries, so we cant attack him with pure heart, as he already started to disarm. On the other side, he is proposing us far less cities than we asked for and far worst - the strategic ones he keeps.

I say we insist on Anjennida's cities for strategical purposes.

Ok, based on what everyone is saying I am sending the following to AlphaShard:
Greetings AlphaShard of Sirius,

As you can see, the team has agreed to reduce our demands considerably as a good faith effort to give us all a chance to pursue a peaceful victory. But you must understand, that after Sirius backstabbed Q, we just cant trust Sirius to share a landmass with us. The way your Anjennida cities culture presses against our Anjennida cities exposes us to a sneak attack, and we can not just trust Sirius carte-blanche after they betrayed the alliance.

Another concern, is that General Blubmuz could return at any time and take over to sneak attack us, and we know that he does not honor treaties. So we must protect ourselves by insisting that Sirius leaves Anjennida entirely.

I must be candid and admit to you that Anjennida is lost to you regardless. Our Armies are already in position, and would have captured all of Anjennida in less than 5 turns. You just don't have the capacity to get enough forces to Anjennida to keep it.

At least this way, you get the peace treaty you want and an excellent chance at winning a peaceful victory. Even without Anjennida or Comet, you still have Bode and Mavs Home Island with all those Wonders. You will be the only team that completely controls 2 Home Islands with all the resources that gives. Sirius will be in great shape to go for the win.

Also, for peace to work, Q must have a legitimate chance to pursue a peaceful victory as well. You must realize that giving them a couple underdeveloped cities on Comet does not accomplish this. Q needs their own landmass to develop just like the other 3 teams have.

So here are AMAZON's amended peace terms:

During the probation period, Sirius must run their tech slider as high as possible. Sirius may not run sliders on culture or espionage.

3. Sirius will gift all cities on Anjennida to AMAZON

4. Sirius will gift all cities on Comet to Quatronia

5. Sirius will sign a NAP with all civs for 50 turns. The NAP requires Sirius to abide by the terms of this treaty as well as the ETTT.

We await your response to our proposal so the race to peaceful victory can begin.
