Embassy to Team Sirius

Just got these 2 PMs from Blubmuz. Sirius has announced they unilaterally withdraw from ETTT as of SciMeth. In the second message, just to us, they propose we discuss a new NAP and separate tech agreement that excludes the other teams.

BLubmuz said:
Dear ETTT members,
as you probably noticed we ceased to share techs after SM was researched.
As you well know we declared on Quatronia some 10 turns ago.

Those decisions were taken because our common enemies, the so-called Candy Axis, were eliminated, already (Mavericks) or soon (Merlot).

Thus, we see no reason to continue to freely share techs with the only surviving teams, since only one will win this game.

We decided to pick a target and this was, for logistic reasons, Quatronia. We admit we were duped by their tactic to keep their main Army loaded in galleons hiding in the fog. Good move! But we will recover.

Of course we're open to evaluate any fair trade any other team will propose in future and to keep good relations with both Amazon and CDZ. Maybe even with Quatronia, after the unavoidable fall of their home island.

We also like to propose a pact to ban the nuclear weapons, so this game can be won by any condition. This won't exclude the military option, but it can be a more interesting game if fought with "conventional" weapons.

Please let us know your thoughts on our proposal and on this whole message.

Dear Amazonian Friends,

We apologize for declining your request for Physics in-game, but we wanted discuss with you the status of the ETTT. We fully intend to honor our treaty obligations to you, but feel recent developments in global politics make it impossible for us to allow the technology sharing as currently described in the ETTT to continue. Specifically, as you have noted, we do not want our research to benefit Quatronia. Again, we reiterate our position that it is impossible, and in fact counterproductive, for technology-sharing to occur between all the remaining teams.

We understand this position may cause you to break off all treaty agreements between our teams, but we highly value our alliance with you and would very much like to maintain a mutually beneficial arrangement. We are happy to renegotiate technology trading and NAP agreements between us outside of the ETTT. Again, we understand you might find such an arrangement impossible, but wanted to make the offer regardless.

Blubmuz, on behalf of Team Sirius
Obviously we can not trust them with a new treaty, as they have just broken our two current treaties. Also notice they say they need to "recover" from strap Q set for them. I will check how much military they lost when I log in next. Since they have abandoned the alliance, and thus broken the SAP treaty with us, maybe now us the time to attack them while their military is weakened. At a minimum, we need to put all espy on them and steal Artillery. We also need to tell other ETTT that we are still considering them allies, and we will get Bio soon to share with them.

At this point we can probably just focus on espy and steal from Sirius instead of teching... we just need to get Medicine first.

I will be back at home hopefully tomorrow and will look at the game and write more, but for now I will propose a poll about declaring war at Sirius and decisively attacking them right away. Also, I will propose we stop teching Medicine, as it will take a long long time we to found the Sid Sushi, spread it and benefit from it. Until then, Q will be fall, Sirius will have 1 more Home Island to control and we will be with one less ally. If we let Q fall, we are toast against Sirius.

I propose we to strike them now, while we have tech parity. Very, very soon Sirius will have Infantries and they will upgrade all their rifles to infantries as they have the money to. Now is the time to save Q, defeat Sirius and secure us the win in this game.

Letters must be sent to Q and CDZ.

I agree with all this that you said. Sirius has broken all treaties. There is no reason not to attack them. We should lower slider on Medicine, raise espy, steal Artillery, use our spies to sabotage their forts/canals, and try to slay the Sirian Dragon before Q are elimminated.

We don't need a poll, there is no choice, this is our only option, as they refused our request for Artillery. Obviously we cant trust them with another treaty, and clearly they wont give us tech anymore, so they are no friends to us anymore.

My thought was to (1)move our units through the channel and hit their home Island to destroy their economy and science, or (2)sabotage their fort and blaze through Bode to destroy their unit production capability. I favor Option 2, but we also need to pump the espy slider and steal Artillery.

Did we get an Engineer for Mining Co or what? If so we should found in our Holy city ASAP.

To me this is also the only possible way we to think of winning this game. Second place is not an option.

A short message to Q saying "Hold on, Quatronian friends, the Amazons are coming to your aid" is necessary. It will raise their morale and will adjust their strategy to just hold on until we come.

Actually, I'm in favour of option 1. I would not want to end up in a situation as we did with Merlot. An all out sneak attack on their Home Island would break them.

Agreed, I will send them a short PM.

The only issue is there used to be a destroyer in the fog blocking the channel. If it is still there, we can not do Option 1. We need to send a spy to scout the channel.

So now that it is decided, we go after Sirius, where should we hit them. Obviously we must attack either this turn or next turn, but where?

We should lower slider on Medicine, raise espy, steal Artillery
I think we must save our money for when we got our Oil back to upgrade some destroyers and transports. On this water heavy map we will need them.

AMAZONs, the war with Sirius is underway:eek: and from civstats I can see that our first salvo into battle was successful. The valiant General 2metraninja has captured a SWirian city and hopefully sunk all their transports, which will strand the bulk of their Army on QHI. Hopefully Q also sank the bulk of their Destroyers, leaving them with some poorly defended cities on Bode and their Home island and the modest garrisons on Comet.

Now that we have DoWed Sirius, I will send them an official declaration (which is more than they gave the ETTT when they DoWed Q) to show them that AMAZON is synonymous with 'classy behavior';)

Dear Sirians,

We hereby notify you that your recent actions amount to violation and a de-facto cancelation of our treaty, and we therefore exercise our right under section 2.4 of the SAP to formal cancelation.
Section 2. Pact Duration and Cancellation Terms
2.4. The pact can be canceled by either member if the other member knowingly violates the terms of the pact.
We have determined that your continued refusal to share tech with us, most recently, your failure to share Artillery, coupled with your unilateral withdrawal from the ETTT violates Section 7.3 of our treaty, the SAP which states:
Section 7. Mutual Technological Advancement 7.3. Both members agree to the terms of the Exclusive Tech-Trading Treaty (ETTT) and agree to remain members while both The ASP and The ETTT are in effect.
Finally, by constructing Notre Dame without so much as mentioning it to us, you have for the second time (the first time was with the Mausoleum of Mausollos) violated section 8.1 of the SAP treaty, which states:
Section 8. Wonders
8.1. Both members agree be open with each other about plans to build World Wonders, to avoid duplication and the tension that could arise from secretly competing against each other.

As a result of your repeated violations of our honorable treaties, we have authorized our General to attack, and as you have no doubt noticed, The AMAZON has declared war on our former, most cherished friends. You left us with little choice. The AMAZON agonized over this grave decision, and some questioned the wisdom of it, but in the end it was decided that our former Sirian allies intended to leave us with no other viable option.

We repeatedly pleaded with you to remain loyal to the ETTT. We constantly reminded you that to unilaterally quit the ETTT was a violation of all your long-standing treaties with us. We unceasingly admonished you that cancelling your tech-sharing arrangement with us was not acceptable to us, and you did not listen.

We are forced to conclude that our Sirian friends have forgotten the bonds of friendship that have seen our alliance through all these many thousands of years and decided to surge ahead via their powerful scientific infrastructure, leaving their friends in the technological dust.

You mention time-and-time-again that there are other, peaceful paths to victory. The AMAZON was always, and remains enthusiastic about these possibilities. However, while the Sirians claim to be interested in peaceful victory, you have cut off the one shining vehicle that could have ensured a peaceful race to victory, the ETTT. With a perpetual, tech sharing alliance in place, all teams could have had a reasonable chance to pursue alternative victories, rather than falling upon each other in a bloodbath to the finish or some other kind of horrific holocaust of death.

But when Sirius ended the ETTT, you concurrently ended any legitimate chance that a peaceful victory could occur. The irony of this choice, is that even with a tech sharing arrangement in place, Sirius was still by far the most likely candidate to acheive victory. You say over and over that "only one can win" but if everyone at least has a chance, then we could all race to the win peacefully. What you have forced upon us all, first by attacking Q and then by illegally, unilaterally withdrawing from the ETTT, is a war to the finish, where peaceful victory is impossible.

We remain open to peaceful paths to victory, under the following terms. Sirius must make efforts to equalize the score of themselves and the other former ETTT allies, so that all can have an equal chance at a peaceful victory. This will include gifting cities and paying sums of money to put us on this path. If Sirius is interested, The AMAZON will respond in kind.

Just got this from Sirius... obviously they are pissed:mad:, threatening to go to admins etc., and again invoking the non-existent '10 turn clause' even after we explained to them that such a thing did not apply:rolleyes: Anyway Blubmuz says he will wipe us out, so it begins:)
BLubmuz said:
Viscid Amazons,
even if i do not know deeply our treaties, i doubt that a member can cancel a NAP and sneak attack at the same time.
Probably not the 10 turns, but at least 1 turn is requested.

Your accuse to us repeatedly violated the treaty can be correct, since you refused any proposal to renegotiate it.

I asked to the Admins if this is acceptable.

In any case be prepared to be wiped.

Blubmuz, on behalf of myself, no time to listen to the other members.

I was thinking is it a good idea to send to Blubmuz a short message to make him even angrier, as angry people rarely judge the situation nor fight well.

Something like:

"I can understand your feelings, but last time you threatened someone with sure wiping it seems it did not happened. I wonder how true this time your threats will be?

be prepared to be wiped
;)"

Or it will ring his bell and makes him start to act more cautious? Which will be not too bad for us too, as it may give us some time we to prepare better. I am not sure :mischief:

 Yes yes please I agree with all of this. We must definitely taunt and goad Blubmuz as it will frustrate confuse and enraged him into making mistakes. There is no hope for peace, so let us revel in the war and have fun!

Please 2metra send these taunting messages One General to another and please include the "sexy AMAZON boots" part:D! Maybe even give him a choice did he mean to "wipe our boots or wipe our a$$? Men come from far and wide to beg to wipe sexy AMAZON buttocks"

Let the fun begin;) Don't forget to post it here for us all to laugh together.

Guys, I set up everything, lets hope for the best. Please dont move anything if you log in. And cross your fingers (if this is how it is said in English), as we are risking a lot.

Here is the message to Blubmuz, I gave a lot of me to make as stupid and provocative as I could. Let him be angry or even better - underestimate me for talking nonsenses and acting like a child.

Greetings nobble Sirian General.

In your last message to us, you sounded very upset. How it feels to be outplayed? Well you equalized the score and now it is 1:1, but dont be hurry to celebrate, as I know how to defend.

I can understand your feelings, but this isnt too kind to threaten us. On another hand, last time you threatened someone with sure wiping it seems it did not happened, eh? I wonder how real this time your threats will be?

be prepared to be wiped

Maybe you mean to wipe our sexy leather Amazon boots? We give you choice to wipe our boots or wipe our a$$. Men come from far and wide to beg to wipe sexy AMAZON buttocks ;)

With our slaved cannons we can hold at Nabaxica against you like forever. Remember what happened to Mavericks and Merlots when they tried to break trough the Center of Starland? We are gathering army there and you will not pass if of course we dont let you

So, please, spare your words for better ;)

2metraninja,
General of the Amazons

:D Wohooo!!! :woohoo:

Surprisingly, I've got an answer from Blubmuz. Gallant man he seems. He is quite polite given what we expected and he dont seems upset, so the taunting part have failed.

However, the disinformation part worked great! It seems he thinks now we are going to defend and he is thinking for waiting tactics - with their science and production output if we give them some 20-30 turns, they can come at us with tanks and bombers for sure. Too bad for them that we think to win or spectacularly lose this war in the next 10 :)

2metraninja,
General of the Amazons
Nice to hear from you, 2m.
I know you're a good player, probably even better than me in multi, where i got very few experience.

About your quote of mine, i did not mean soon, but you know, let me react after the backstab. You got cannons, sure, tons of rifles, sure. Let's see how they work against infantry, marines, bombers and tanks. Just wait some turn.

In any case your move to first declare and even raze an undefended city, then (3 hours later) send to us an email where you inform us that you cancel our NAP and even started a war is a true backstab. Totally unfair and viscid, mainly after our request to renegotiate our agreements.
Believe me, it's not nice to read an email, log and see that your best ally is at war with you.

Now i got some problem to defend and to counter attack, sure. I'm working on that. Be prepared.

Personally, outside of this game, all the best! ciao, Blub

What surprises me is he speaks even more than we ever expected, telling us their plans for winning the game with technological superior units. This may well be a deceiving just like my own message to him about our defensive tactics, but I sense he speaks in open.

I never knew him, anyone have any info about him? His strengths, weakness, what he is capable, is he a risk player, how much experience he have with pirbosses, any particular wins, loses? I am surprised he knows something about me, as I dont think of myself as particularly famous in CFC. But yet again - he may be just flattering me and pumping my own ego to believe in myself and do stupid risky things otherwise I would not :).

Am I supposed to answer?

Maybe he will then answer too and we will keep corresponding, giving him some false feeling the war isnt so fierce as we intend to be?

I know I am in charge of our military and not of the diplomacy, but I used this chance to save the game and on the other hand, as one of my friends says always to me: with gun and kind word you can achieve time more than with just bare kind word, so I go ahead an what I actually did is talked with AlphaShard and convinced him to play Sirius.

For this to happen, I had to promise I will speak with you about signing peace with Sirius. Although I made it clear that this is a big gesture on our side, as we are well able to destroy them and we understand that in a strategical sense for us it is best we just to eliminate them, this peace is going to come at price for Sirius. They have to make concessions and reparations for the war efforts. So, it seems we have a turnplayer from Sirius if we promise them peace. Thats basically some form of capitulation and recognition we had won the war.

All hail the mighty Amazons!!!

So, gyus, here is what AlphaShard replied in his last PM to me:

Quote:
Yes there was some confusion on my side if Bulbmuz had quit or not. I didn't know what he was doing. So now that he seems to finally have quit I can take over. Yes I want to take peace and am willing to conceded city/spots (I don't know what's been raised and what's still in our control).

I want all of Bode and the Sirius home Isle. I will give up spaces/cities on the spoke south of Bode, like the Ivory city. I'll even give the two south coast cities to Quat. Again I have to see what's left, etc. I hope that helps as far as compensation goes. I am open to further negotiations on this regard.

Returning to the ETTT I know is a given and no problem with that.
What you think? What terms we must put? How we must reward our allies? How we must make sure that Sirius is not that strong to beat us to Space or Culture VC and yet they to have the chance at all and not just give in?

My concern would be if they agree they could work some good diplo and get the other teams to all gang up on us later. I think our best option is probably to beat them slowly so that we have time to build up our massive number of cities so that we are truly unstoppable. If we do make a peace deal we need to do it in a way so that the next war is not against us.
