Hey everyone , I started a noble shadow game series 2 months and to learn some game mechanics , it all went well and I learned a lot but i had to leave the game due to my exams and I now I'm starting a new series for emperor difficulty.

Start looks like okay. I have 3 flood plains , plenty of forest , plains hill but only one food resource and that too a cow.

I would settle on marble, gives 2:hammers: without killing the forest, and you can move and settle on turn 0. I'd move the scout NE first to make sure you're not running away from any food.

I'd go either for the marble or the plains hill, both seem to have merits.

AH starts are challenging for leaders with weak starting techs. Well, at least there are floodplains which are good tiles unimproved even. If no other :food:-resources, I might be tempted to just grow and go mining-BW intending to whip the first worker size 4.

Was thinking for marble too.

I was thinking going agriculture first farm 1-2 flood plains and then mining and BW.

Not horrible of course and I think that's the way many would play it (agri-AH or agri-min-BW). I think straight to BW is a lot better though, simply because chopping beats farming fps by a big margin. Faster 2nd city and so on.

I am assuming no extra :food:-resources found of course. The point is just to grow to size 4 using those nice 3:food:1:commerce:-tiles while building warriors, then 1T before BW switch to worker, whip next turn, worker starts to put chops towards settler.

Hmm, maybe just straight to AH? The corn is not well placed and you can claim it with your 5th city or so. 2nd city 1S of western sheep perhaps? Shares two floodplains with capital, though otherwise obviously very poor tiles. 1W of eastern sheep (=where warrior is now) is another decent spot, though it has only one decent tile for now. Neither one is a very strong site, but there is nothing better.

Copper is nice, I'd improve it before chopping. If you have :hammers: in a warrior, probably finish it immediately, then settler. With the copper-tile available I'd just hard build the settler and not whip.

You are moving your units a bit recklessly IMO. You shouldn't care about the jungle, get the scout back asap. Fog busting north of your capital is fine (for example 1SE of banana). NE warrior is also drifting a bit far from capital. The worst thing you can do with your units is die. Don't die. Avoid putting your units into situations where it's possible to die. You've scouted easily enough to set up your core cities. Main duty of your units is to guarantee your settler's safety.

Yeah AH is the only choice though for 2 city was wondering 1SW to get gold and get early advantage on tech and also since it will take time to get cottages.

Never considered copper as a very good tile , might have to change that.

Okay will be careful with units

The issue is that you won't get the gold, ever. Your 2nd ring will lose to SBs capital 3rd ring (pops T50). Forget the gold, it's desert even, not a very strong tile anyway. Main focus at first should be to expand and grow, then build cottages to sprint ahead in tech.

It's :food:-negative which is not great, but still, it's 6 yield so really good for slow building settlers/workers.
