hmm... Read all of the mission briefings. I passed that level easily. I built a large army, sacked the city in Anatolia, then wiped out the Dorians and then sat in Greece.

Did you take the prophet and the hero with you as well?

hmm... Try waiting for a bit, building a prehistoric army and rushing the city destroying it. I think some people died in your rush to the dock maybe.

Has anyone bought Conquest of the New World from gog.com? They claim that this version works on Windows 7.

CotNW has the best combat resolution system... or at least, the most amusing... that I've ever seen in a wargame.

Missing too often induces rage for me (RNG > numerical advantage).

A friend on the Paradox forum just gifted me with Conquest of the New World... and it does indeed work on Windows 7.

There are still a few minor bugs in the game, though, even twenty-odd years after release. I am currently playing a game as that famous British explorer, StringNotFound!
