English Invasion of Ireland

The Invasion that was to bring eight centuries of greif to Ireland began on a sunny autumn day in the Year of Our Lord 1167
-The Princes of Ireland, Edward Rutherfurd

And indeed it was. The Clans of Ireland were wiped away, Gaelic culture almost completely annihilated and more blood would follow. The English attacked into Meath and held that territory for hundreds of years.

The scenarios features many Irish Civs and the English (all Playable), it works fine and is fun to play once the momentum starts up.

EDIT: Installation; Once you download the art/tex file there will be a file called units with in it, don't send that into your scenarios folder, instead open that up and there will be another file labbelled Eireann, that's the file you want.

at the risk of sounds really naive...

every time i try to load this scenario, the game shuts down after displaying this:

load error
error reading file
missing entry in "text\PediaIcons.txt": ANIMNAME_PRTO_Russk

does anyone know how i can fix this or at least where to go to find out?

And for future reference when someone says they "echo your sentiments" it means they agree with you, not that they are calling for the ethnic cleansing of the Gaelic people...

And for the matter I do hate the English my great grandfather was killed in the 1916 rising and my uncle was jailed in northern Ireland accused wrongfully of being a terrorist he was released with only an apology and a tiny amount of compensation eleven years ago

I see a thread that is itching to be closed...

No matter how you feel about the scenario, or the Historical basis for it, this is no place for cussing and attacking people for political views...

we have had the Irish/English debate several times since Ive been on the forums, and Im sure it has happened several times before I got here...there will never be a clear agreement on the subject, so IMO its better not to bring it up at all...

@Pat, Im sorry about your experiences, but this isnt the place for it...and next time, please check the dates before you bump a dead thread please

please people, just let this one go, before we start another heated arguement and people get yelled at...As I have stated before, there will never be an agreement on the subject. The English were hostile Invaders to some people, and the Irish were terrorists to others...

lets just agree to disagree...
