City Check - change a clown in Aarhus to a tax collector
A little MM in Odense, hire a tax collector, shave 2 turns off court
Rush Court in Bergen
Diplo Check -
England is up Chemistry
Spain down Education
I buy Chemistry from the Netherlands for Education and 420g
Sell Theology to Portugal for 20g
Sell Education to Spain for 19g+4gpt
=====
IBT - Renew trade with Portugal, Trading Horses, Wines, Ivory for Dyes
We learn Astronomy, set queue to Navigation, Due in 6 at 70%
Scroll through our cities quickly, change queue in Istanbul to Copernicus', leave palace pre-build going in Iznik for Magellan's Pre-build. MM to get "Palace" in 16 instead of 18.
Bergen Court>Forbidden Palace
Uskadar University>Knight
Izmit University>Knight
Antalya Market>Duct
Sinop Duct>Court
Kafa Duct>University
Incense Walls>Library
=====
Turn 1 (1010)
Do a little mining around Bergen
Wow! That's IT?!?!
Wake some galleys and move them to be upgraded.
The Universities are kicking in, Navigation now due in 4.
=====
IBT
Aarthus settler?>market
Mugla Market>Duct
Palace Expansion
=====
Turn 2 (1020)
Upgrade the rest of our galleys to Caravels
take a break and log onto CFC, to see where PF wanted that settler to go...
=====
IBT - Edrine Court>University
Konya Market>University
We lost our supply of spices
=====
Turn 3 (1030)
Trade Chemistry to Spain for Spices, 1gpt+20g
Trade Ivory, Wines, 140g+5gtp to Carthage for furs
Okay, PF wanted the settler to go 3NW of Aarthus...
=====
IBT - :zzz:
Bursa Court>Knight
Aydin University>Knight
Odense Court>Market
The English are building Copernicus'
The Byzantines are building Copernicus'
=====
Turn 4 (1040)
Bergen is now pop 7, zero growth, FP due in 20.
Found Riza 3 NW of Aarhus, set queue to Library. (It will be productive when FP completes.
I have a knight in a Caravel headed to incense to play whack-a-barb
=====
IBT -
Uskadar Knight>Knight
Izmit Knight>Knight
=====
Note to team: The real strenght of the Ottomans is the Sipahi. We need to build some knights, and build cash reserves to upgrade knights to Sipahi when we get Military Tradition. We can take the next land mass of choice with Sipahi...
Turn 5 (1050)
Take Science down a notch, still gets Navigation in 1.
Our FP build in Bergen has gone UP a turn. Ratchet lux up to 10% to see if WLTKD will help.
Bursa, at 25spt, is our next most productive city. Change build queue to Cathedral (6) to change to Palace next turn as a Smith's Pre-build.
=====
IBT - we learn the secrets of Navigation, set queue to Banking
Trondheim Library>Market
Several cities pop off WLTKD, and we get another palace expansion
Forbidden Palace now due in 12
=====
Turn 6 (1060)
Let's see... switching Iznik to Magellan's will waste 134 shields. Magellans only costs 400s, while Smith's costs 600. At it's current rate, Bursa can build Magellan's in 14 turns. I'm on turn 6 in a GA... check the log... the GA began on PF's 6th turn, so we ought to have 10 more turns left in the GA. This is a calculated risk - that we can build Copernicus' before the others get Navigation...
Trade Salt to England for 5gpt. It's a paltry offer, but it brings us to +22gpt. The 10% lux hurts, but we need it for the FP build.
@ Team I'm doing some things here that the next better player will need to look at to make this work. I have switched Aydin, Izmit, and Uskadar to Colosseum.
these are Bank pre-builds, due in 6, with banking due in 5. It will be important to swap these to banks to get these built during our GA. I have switched Bursa to Magellan's, hoping to get that built about the time we discover Economics. We can then do a massive shield dump from Iznik (Palace pre-build) into Smith's Trading Co., and get a nice tri-fecta of Copernicus', Smith's, and Magellan's.
A couple of worker moves, and that does it for turn 6.
===
IBT - Hannibal wants to trade World Maps, I decline.
The Carthaginians are building Copernicus...
=====
Turn 7 (1070)
...some worker moves...move that knight towards Sesn's little project town...
I have one Caravel headed north to explore the oceans
Spain offers 20g+WM+9gpt for Astronomy, and I take it. This brings our treasury to 223g+32gpt (bear in mind we're spending 10% on lux to cut our FP build down...)
Our military is at 80 units, with unit support of... 80 units.
=====
IBT - :zzz:
Edrine University>Colloseum (Bank Pre-build)
Antalaya Aqueduct>University
=====
Turn 8 (1080)
Do a quick diplo check. We are still up Navigation on England, Spain, Byzantines, Carthage. Up Education and Chemistry on Portugal. Up Astonomy on Netherlands.
I hope our monopoly on Navigation can hold for just 3 more turns... that's when Copernicus' is due in Istanbul.
Our Navy is in Salonika... Once we get Economics in hand, and some banks built in our core we should start building knights to be upgraded to Sipahi, bee-line towards Military Tradition, upgrade the knights, and take out the dutch.

=====
IBT - :zzz:
Denizili Market>duct
=====
Turn 9 (1090)
Quick Diplo check - we still have a monopoly on Navigation
...unload a knight in Incense and whack a barb...look at that stack, and wish I'd brought 2 more knights along...
Some worker moves, some more exploring, and
land ho! We've discovered another island to the north, and there's a border already there!
=====
IBT -
Konkya University>Colosseum (Bank Pre-build)
Bolu Court>Duct
=====
the bane of every Succession game player...Turn 10 (1100)
Quick Diplo check - we're still up Navigation! [dance]
With Copernicus' due next turn, if we're still up Navigation next turn, we will have our own private wonder cascade in a few more turns with Smith's and Magellan's. A middle ages wonder trifecta, if you will...
FP due in 8, but we won't get it then, because the GA will run out.
Take science down to 50% still gets us Banking next turn.
Do some worker moves, put our knight in Incense...
Dang...end of my round.
