EQNES: Red Alert Revisted

EQ- Orders tonight are not looking so good, actually I doubt I can get them in. Can I sent tomorrow at about 12:00 noon EST?

because of a lack of orders from particular people and an abrupt change in today's schedule for me, the update is tomorrow.

EQ I'm sorry, but since I am leaving please NPC me for a week from now. Thank you!

well i got some orders i didnt expect to get but i didnt get the orders i thought i'd get. I'll update anyways, the person who didnt send orders has only himself to blame.

Oh to reiterate I wanted 200 Sagitterios and 200 Medium Tanks.
The Soviet menace doesn't have a chance... *snigger-grins*

They've lost 12.5% of their staple infantry for crying out loud! They're going to be short on spades soon! SPADES Man! The Soviet Union short on spades!
bwahahhahahahahahah

maybe around 4, 5 million conscripts, but that would strain their morale and economy excessively.

Conscription doubles troops? I thought it cut prices in half!
Shouldn't Romania be allowed to conscript in order to double their numbers?
---
...

I order conscription!

Hmm... Tunisia considers the benefits of conscription. It could half the amount of time it will take us to achieve superpower status, but at what price?

lurker's comment: Well, consider that Iraq had the 4th largest army in the world prior to the Gulf War. Now consider how long that war lasted and how good those conscripts did in it. :p

Mods are generally speaking much less likely to notice the difference in quality.

I believe it was the quality of the CU's armies in goob's nes that allowed it to overrun so many dictatorships and build a Colonial Empire ;)

NEW ALLIANCES! In Europe one alliance has ended as a new one begins. The Scandinavian Union has joined the Stonewall Pact as the Second Great War rages onward and already some Norwiegan and Dannish forces have been dispatched in support of the German front. In the southeast the Islamic Alliance has been formed, led by Turkey and Saudi Arabia and containing the mainly revolted nations created by the dissolution of the French Empire. As yet they have not made a position clear on their stance in the ongoing struggle.

REPUBLICAN FRENCH ECONOMY COLLAPSES! The economy of the French republic has fallen, perhaps fatally. The end of the colonies and the ongoing dissent and civil war has strained the economy to the point at which it broke. It may take some time to ever repair from this disaster.

ISLAMIC ALLIANCE ADVANCES! With the creation of the new union, the greatest minds in all of the Middle East have gathered to design a new medium tank. This tank is known by its designers as the Fist of Allah, but known to foriegn observers simply as the Fist.

UNITED STATES ANNOUNCES OFFER FOR BRITIAN! President Truman has offered a Ship for Bases plan, asking for a lease on access to British bases in exchange for 100 American destroyers. No word has come out of Downing Street on a response to this, but most expect approval of the plan.

COMMUNISTS HIT BACK IN FRANCE! As the Second Great War rages on across Europe, the fighting in France has yet to cease. Communist French forces have launched a major counter-attack against British and Republican troops, hitting them back away from Caen.

Casualty List

Communist French: 18,000 Infantry, 10,000 Soviet Infantry, 200 T-34s, 100 YAKs
British: 12,000 Infantry, 190 Light Tanks
Republican French: 21,000 Infantry, 210 Light Tanks, 150 Fighters

SECOND GREAT WAR

BRITISH SHIP SUNK AT MOUTH OF THE THAMES! In a daring raid, Spainish submarines managed to sneak past the British destroyer net and sunk a British merchant ship coming from Africa in the middle of the Thames channel. This caused considerable panic and a brief economic downturn. This is merely the first British ship sunk as several more British flagged ships are sunk in the Atlantic by Spainish and Soviet submarines. Throughout the Atlantic some minor casualties have occured on both sides as destroyers sink submarines and the submarines occasionally sink escorts.

Casualty List

Soviet: 10 Submarines
Spainish: 5 submarines
British: 10 Destroyers

GERMANS SURRENDER WEST OF WARSAW! A small German army of 30,000, cut off from the rest of the armed forces were forced to surrender as the Soviets advanced west. Though Soviet casualties were inflicted they were relatively minor as the Germans continue the withdrawl to the Oder River. However the arrival of Allied forces from Denmark, Norway, and Brazil could turn the tide in the coming months of war.

Casualty List

German: 30,000 Infantry, 25 Me-262s
Soviets: 25,000 Soviet Infantry, 30 T-34s, 70 YAKs, 5 DB-2s

SOVIETS PUSH BACK INTO CZECHSLOVAKIA! Fighting against allied Czech, Austrian, and Portuguese forces, the Soviets have managed to punch their way back west, driving nearly all the way to Bratislavia and Vienna. Casualties have been heavy on this front, as both sides have clashed in head on combat.

Casualty List

Soviet: 57,000 Soviet Infantry, 250 T-34s, 90 IS-3s, 150 YAKs, 40 MiG-9s, 75 DB-2s
Czech: 39,000 Infantry, 370 Light Tanks, 70 Panthers, 100 S.245s, 15 Me-262s
Portuguese: 4,000 Infantry, 25 Light Tanks
Austrian: 3,000 Infantry, 30 Light Tanks, 25 Sagitarrios

BLOODY FIGHT FOR BUDAPEST! Allied and Communist forces have been locked into a great battle in the city of Budapest as Italian troops arrive and make the fight nearly even in numbers. Allied control of the skies has halted any further Soviet advances in the open, forcing the ongoing fight in this formerly beautiful city. Casualties have been extraordinarily heavy as both sides continue the bloodbath.

Casualty List

Soviet: 85,000 Soviet Infantry, 450 T-34s, 25 IS-3s, 250 YAKs, 110 MiG-9s, 120 DB-2s

Hungarian: 45,000 Infantry, 400 Light Tanks, 75 Panthers, 120 Sagitarrios
Italian: 40,000 Infantry, 340 Light Tanks, 180 Sagitarrios

CLUJ SURRENDERS TO SOVIET ONSLAUGHT AS ROMANIANS RAID OIL FIELDS! The Romanian city of Cluj has surrendered as food and ammunition runs short under the Soviet siege. Nearly 60,000 Romanians surrendered, making this the second largest Allied defeat so far in the war. To the east, the Romanians have managed to raid and heavily damage the Bulgarian held oil fields, sending the Bulgarians into a rout as the allied forces wrecked the fields for communist. However Soviet forces quickly moved in and forced the Romanian raid back to its start point.

Casualty List

Soviet: 35,000 Soviet Infantry, 100 T-34s, 70 YAKs, 10 DB-2s
Bulgarian: 25,000 Infantry, 100 Light Tanks, 30 YAKs
Romanian: 68,000 Infantry, 250 Mech Infantry, 125 Panthers, 30 Sagitarrios, 10 Bombers

GREEK FRONT STALLS! As Italian forces were withdrawn to fight at the battle of Budapest, the Greeks have managed to halt the new Italian drive south with nearly equal forces. The front has more or less stabilized as neither side has managed to gain a successful breakthrough.

Casualty List

Italian: 16,000 Infantry, 40 Light Tanks
Greeks: 18,000 Infantry, 15 T-34s

DISASTER AT GILBRALTER! British and Commonwealth forces have attempted an assualt onto southern Spain only to find it disasterously backfire. Troop transports departing from Britian were quickly spotted by communist submarines and after figuring out where the attack would come from the entire Spainish and Soviet armies in the area were rushed to the south. In the process the Soviet and Spainish submarine forces launched continual attacks on the convoy carrying the army, inflicting heavy casualties on both troops and escorts, despite losses of their own. Many brave British troops were drowned in the journey. Disaster continued as amphibious assualts took place on the south and the assualt came from Gilbralter, as every single communist plane in the area took flight. Allied ship after ship were sunk by combined naval and air efforts, as the communists threw everything they had at the Allied fleets. Four British Battleships, including the famous Prince of Wales were sunk by Spainish bombers. As troops landed on the beaches, they were met by heights with machine guns and artillery prepared behind barbed wire and sandbags. The amphibious landings were forced to be called off as the British fleet withdrew to the Baeleric Islands. From Gilbralter itself, the British forces attacked into Spain, only to be surronded and nearly destroyed in the open. In the process of a retreat, nearly 110,000 British and commonwealth troops escaped Iberia in what has become known as the Miracle of Gilbralter.

Casualty List

Soviet: 25,000 Soviet Infantry, 150 T-34s, 250 YAKs, 50 MiG-9s, 55 Submarines
Spainish: 30,000 Infantry, 300 Light Tanks, 50 T-34s, 2,000 Mech Infantry, 1 Battleship, 2 Battlecruisers, 9 Cruisers, 35 Destroyers, 40 Submarines, 245 YAKs, 200 MiG-9s, 95 Bombers

Italian: 25 Destroyers

VLADIOSTOCK FALLS TO JAPANESE ATTACK! The eastern Soviet city of Vladiostock has fallen to a renewed Japanese offensive as Soviet forces continue a transfer from front to front. Casualties have been low as the Soviet forces trade space for time.

Soviet: 20,000 Soviet Infantry, 100 T-34s, 200 YAKs
Japanese: 30,000 Infantry, 250 Light Tanks, 50 Zeros, 25 Bombers

OOC

I've changed around the tech bit with the formation of the alliances, instead now it will just say the alliance name with the tech instead of the individual countries. That way i dont have to worry about the tech stats as much. This of course does not count for atomic research.

nah, it was only Madagascar and Jordan that offered any resistance beyond gangs
they were all in anarchy, and in the case of Madagascar I coincidentially had Malaysia landing in the north

but yeah I suppose Goober is an exception.

great update EQ!

toteone, i order you to add up the casualties and compare them as well as doing the percentages! By My Order, Obey!

I already did the infantry one :), the Red Menace/Soviet Union has suffered ca. 247.000 Soviet troops in casualties... bwahahahaha
that's the third time in a row

in thirteen rounds they won't have an army
- if we survive
Which we won't if we keep on surrendering. But I do rather believe that Rumania was knocked out because of the sneak attack and Bulgaria.
I'm more worried about Germany.
With their pathetic army compared to how important they are ...

played Red Alert w/ the Soviets (I had a hacked version before I quit playing pirated games so I could only play the Russkis) Stalin totally kicks ass after taking Berlin if he's only facing a few nations

maybe we could make the tesla tank? or was that one of russian design?

And where is that British commando-girl?

EQ, you forgot to mention how the Tunisian Navy stunned friend and foe alike by their determination and bravery. Our submarines even managed to shot some of those underwater rocket things at the bad guy fleet. The triumphant captains return to port to have "enemy object slightly wounded in battle" emblems painted on the conning tower of their subs. Hurray!

Here's the official casualty list, soon to be updated with how many of each nation has died as well.
