CC: Communist Insurgents

Premier Stalin, it has come to my attention that the Communist insurgents now being pushed back in southern France have requested that Soviet troops be deployed to the region to prop them up. While I have tried to be diplomatic in regards to Bulgaria and Greece (moreso than my allies, I should say), when it comes to France I must speak bluntly. Allow me to make something abundantly clear to you, Mr. Stalin. If Soviet troops encamp in France, they will cease to exist in very short order. You have seen what our bombs can do. A Soviet encampment in France could be and would be annihilated by a single one of those weapons. You will not deploy ground forces to France. You will not continue to support the Communist rebels. Failure to comply with these imperatives will result in devastation on a scale which you and your nation cannot even begin to comprehend. Germany will not sit by idly and watch France fall to Soviet occupation. It is your choice. Stay out of France, or watch your men be vaporized in the mushroom clouds of our atomic bombs.

To Austria:
We gladly and readilly our accept our southern Germanic brothers into the great Stonewall Pact. Together, let us stand against Bolshevist expansionism.

To Germany from Czechoslovakia (secret):
we will gladly provide our air forces for any Stonewall pact operation.

TO GERMANY
FROM COMMUNIST FRANCE

If the other Imperialist dogs didn't interfere in France's civil war, we would not have been forced into this move. Why can't you all leave well alone and let France decide her own fate?

As for nuking a base in France, you would kill millions of innocent French civilians. You would be a mass murderer on a grand scale, and the world would turn against you, as will all of France. In one fell swoop, France's civil war would be over - and I would have won.

If you can guarantee that no other nation will interfere any further in the French civil war I will review my offer to the Soviets.

If you do not, well, you can nuke France, but you will become the world's most hated man.

I may be a Communist, you may be a Capitalist, but surely you can see that in this we both share the same goal - to minimise bloodshed in this war.

Comrade Napoleon

To French Communist Rebels:
From Germany:
Soviet involvement in the French rebellion is non-negotiable. We and our allies will continue to support the legitimate French government. We will not tolerate the presence of Soviet military personnel on French soil. If you truly wish to minimize bloodshed, than accept that your "revolution" has failed and that you have been defeated, and lay down your arms. If you accept peace and lay down your weapons before further bloodshed occurs, we will do our utmost to gain amnesty for all your men from our French allies. This is the only way to end the bloodshed. Soviet involvement is unacceptable. Leaving our ally and the legitimate government of France alone to be overrun by insurgents is unacceptable. We do not wish to use atomic weapons but if we are left with no other choice we will do so. If you, despite these offers and these warnings, still intend to establish a Soviet base on French soil, then I may only suggest that, if you do love the lives of your countrymen as you say, you establish that base in the most sparsely-populated area you can find, so as to minimize the civilian casualties that will result directly from your actions.

To French Commnuist Rebels

You dare call us an imperialsist dogs? We have been a kingdom and a satelite, yet never an empire. To leave France alone would be to doom her for eternity, so once your forces are crushed France shall be returned to her rightful state.

TO GERMANY
FROM THE TRUE FRANCE

You talk about nuclear weapons as if they were play things. Have you not realised that the USSR will have nuclear weapons in a turn or two, and will reply? You will cause World War III when the second is only just over!

My revolution has been popular - that is obvious from the amount of people who have joined it! I cannot betray them now. I would agree to let the two Frances sit down and negotiate a peace treaty, but I will not betray my friends by ordering them to surrender.

As for a Soviet base on French soil, by nuking it you would turn every single French person to my side. It is the best possible thing you could do for me - it would destroy Europe as we know it due to the nuclear war it would start, and guarantee that I would win the civil war.

Think about that.

However, if Imperialist involvement in this civil war can be halted, or we can negotiate a decent treaty between the two sides, then the Soviets need not enter France and we can all live in peace without the fear of World War III.

Comrade Napoleon

Lurker's comment: second one? Did it happen? I missed something, I think...

OOC Stonewall pact guys... please share all of your research... hint hint Scandinavia!

To: Austria
From: Italy

We welcome you into the Pact.

To: USSR
From: Italy

Soviet interference in France shall not be tolerated.

OOC: *looks extremely confused, but that could have something to do with the Colorado sun.* What about Scandinavia? What research does the Scandinavian alliance have to offer to the stonewall pact since u already have all the techs that we have? And i wasn't informed that Sweden, or Denmark, or Norway agreed to join such a pact... Gahh, i'm going to stay on vacation no more posts after this one.

@das and uknemesis: yep, no WW2 in this universe. But we can pretend uk meant the Great War in his speech.

To: Germany
From: Soviet Union

We will not send troops to France, we assure you.We have no intention of blatantly invading a soveriegn nation like the Stonewall Pact does. Though we support the progressive cause in France, we will not escalate the conflict like the warmongering Romanians and Italians.

To: Revolutionary French brethren
From: Soviet Union

We regret that we are unable to act on your behalf in the war, however the British blockade and actions in Iberia have forced us to temporarily stop sending fresh forces to your front. Fight hard and long and we will eventually be able to relieve you.

ah yes, i'm thinking Friday would be a good day for an update, maybe Thursday if orders are in quick enough.

OOC: If Britain and USSR is at war, how come the fighting is only going on at Iberia? There's lotsa british colonies on land... THIS IS OOC!!!

OOC: Mainly because India is independant and the Soviets have no direct route to any of the British colonies on land. Unless of course we go through Turkey MWUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

To USSR:
From Germany:
We are glad to see that the unelected leaders of the Soviet Union have enough good sense and reason to not engage in military actions on behalf of an illegal insurgency, or to blatantly invade sovereign nations as their Spanish allies have, so as to precipitate the use of atomic force. If this is the beginning of a trend in Soviet leadership, then Europe may yet reach the end of this decade without suffering another devastating World War.

To French Communist Rebels:
From Germany:
Your Bolshevist puppetmasters in Moskau have wisely abandoned your cause and saved themselves from terrible devastation. Your situation is hopeless. Your rebellion has failed, the war is lost. We will only make this offer once again. Lay down your arms and surrender yoruselves to the legitimate French authorities, and we will seek amnesty and reconciliation on your behalf. Refuse, and we will aid our French allies in crushing you once and for all.

The UK announces that any USSR ship or any ship of the USSR's allies is subject to siezure and search by the Royal Navy of Great Britian, and if contraband is found it will be siezed. If the ship refuses to stop, it will be sunk. All ships are required to identify themselves when they enter the North Sea, English Channel, and all coastal waters around France, Iberia and the UK, and may be subject to search if they meet the conditions.
