Extended religion modmod (henceforth called erm :P) is designed to extend the current line of religion techs in FFH as well as altering some of the religious features. And some other stuff that I haven't thought of yet.

Current Features:
  • Summon Agares victory condition - can only be achieved by evil civs. The altar required for it is built with Great Sages, and provides experience to arcane units and improves sages. It also makes enemy units who come within range of it gain the withered promotion.
  • Adjusted altar of the luonnotar.
  • New technologies.
  • New rituals.
  • New world wonders.
  • Luonnotars can once again build the altar of the luonnotar.
  • Religion weight modifiers adjusted for leaders.
  • Dies Dei and Code of Junil will lower the AC upon their creation.
  • New temples for the religions.
  • At AC 90, Hell Terrain will spread to good civilisations.

Planned features:
  • More adjustments to the altars.
  • Victory clip for summon agares (currently uses the conquest one)
  • Various edits as I think of them/people suggest them :P

Download here
Requires FFH patch P (patch P available here)

To install:

Extract the setup
Run the setup
Make sure it installs to your beyond the sword/mods folder
When installed, run the ERM shortcut inside the ERM folder. Or load it via the menu in game, whichever you prefer

Taking any and all comments/suggestions.

Patch B for ERM

  • Edited AotD Victory Condition. Now called Summon Agares, is performed by completion of the Summon Agares ritual (unlocked at Hell's intervention, requires AotD lv 6.) Reasons for this: easier to write lore for, stops people rushing the last part.
  • Neutral civilisations can not build either altar (exception: Grigori can build altar of the luonnotar)
  • New temples for religions, require old temple in city.
  • Good civilisations can not research Hell's Intervention
  • Evil civilisations can not research Divine Intervention
  • Hell terrain will spread to good territory at AC 90

Version 0.20a
Inital version

I like this, I always thought that the evil civs needed another victory condition, Perhaps the neutral civs could only build AotD until the late levels, seems unfair that the neutral get two conditions

Done. :P

Neutral civs can build the first 4 stages, but must become evil to build the last 3.

Why not do the same for the AotL? That way Neutral civilizations (except the Grigori) are forced to choose Good/Evil in order to get an ascension victory of one kind or the other.

I like the idea of this modmod, Evil isn't weak but it's nice to see a new victory condition for them. :)

Actually it could be nice to set it up so that anything beyond the 4th level of both Luo and Damn require either Good/Evil or Agnostic. Then Illians & Grigori have access to both (maybe make the 5th level of either one force an alignment change so that Grigori/Illian can even change alignments?), and the rest of the world MUST choose to be good/evil before undertaking the 5th level.

I've uploaded a version for people to test and download (I hope it works, I can't make heads nor tails of these installers.)

To install:

Grigori can build either altar
Illians can only build the AotD

Might I also suggest that once a civilization builds the first level of one, it cannot build the other? Having one of each, even at level 3, seems really strong.

I am also a fan of requiring Good or Evil for each Altar. I would even suggest lowering the alignment requirement so you need to pick Good or Evil to get higher than the third level. Mid and late game FFH should have players picking sides.

I think it would be better to make building one destroy your work on the other rather than block it. Going for both seems like too much, but I don't think that an early game decision should force you to continue following one path like that.

Assuming all goes well, the first patch should be released tonight. I know it's early on and such, but it changes the AotD victory condition:

* Edited Altar of the Damned Victory Condition. Now called Summon Agares, is performed by completion of the Summon Agares ritual (unlocked at Hell's intervention, requires Altar of the Damned lv 6.) Reasons for this: easier to write lore for, stops people rushing the last part.
* Neutral civilisations can not build either altar (exception: Grigori can build altar of the luonnotar)
* New temples for religions, require old temple in city.
* Good civilisations can not research Hell's Intervention
* Evil civilisations can not research Divine Intervention

Updated first post with link to patch B.

I figured it was a bit unfair that good players could let the world go to Hell and not be affected by it.

Next version will be released when FFH patch O is (mainly because patch O is going to alter tech costs, so I may need to adjust the techs I added):

0.30 (unreleased)

* Completion of the Summon Agares ritual will cover the entire world with Hell terrain.
* Added Gardens of Sucellus world wonder:
