Estonian Civilazation (WIP)

Hey, nice to see the work you're getting done here. If you don't mind, I adjusted your icon a little bit. Generally Civ 5 icons are only two colours and the picture doesn't go so close to the border so I touched it up for you:

If you want to use it I can send you it as a file so it doesn't have the compression from Imgur.

Do not that aside from the colours, it is very similar to Elizabeth's icon when playing with JFD's Britain.

Oh, I think you confused events with decisions.... Decisions require magistrates, events randomly happen(but can be tied to certain situations).

How about making discovery of iron in a bog an event? (Rather than a decision)

I think those lions are maybe too similar to JFD's Britain. Blue and yellow feel more Swedish to me, I would prefer colours based on more iconic sinimustvalg (Blue, Black and White). Blue and white or blue and grey maybe? Or black and something?

I made one with cornflower (in Estonia we call it rye flower) and maybe that could work if refined a bit.. I agree that Yellow and Blue are a bit Swedish.. But then again Sweden already owns our national banks and huge chunks of enterprises.. Estonia is pretty much vassale state of Sweden.. Jokes aside I could see.. maybe blue and white works well together..

Very good Idea :) Also, that means I will have to start thinking of maybe a better decision for Estonia..

These UA changes still don't take into account the fact that, on a standard map, there aren't many Marsh tiles. Even the Netherland's Polder UI is designed to work with Marshes and Flood Plains to give them a better chance of coming into play during a game. That's why I suggested adding something else to the UA that isn't Marsh related so that the UA will always be relevant in every game.

England's UA gives Naval and Embarked units increased movement. But what if you play on a map with almost no water (Highlands, Boreal - have no oceans; only lakes)? They still have the extra Spy. Likewise, if you play with Espionage turned off, they still have the water movement bonus.

1 idea I had was to get free tech after discovering computers and Internet.. (Because of Skype, E-Government, E-Election, E-Citizenship etc.)
or when you discover computers you automatically discover internet..

2nd idea is what I have written on my main post.. When you great 3 first cities then they change 3 flat terrain into marsh..

The UA is too big. So many bonuses.
I didn't liked the UU's restrictions, but it seems fitting from what I'm reading.
The UB is quite nice.

Sadly u need a lot of bonuses for specialicing on marches because let's be honest.. They are quite useless usually (they usually have +1 food production and that is it..) Also they are rare unless you play on wet setting..

How about something like this:
Marshes yield +1 :c5faith: Faith, +2 :c5culture: culture, and an additional +1 :c5food: Food, +1 :c5faith: Faith per completed social policy tree. Marshes also act as a source of fresh water for surrounding tiles. +25% :c5strength: Combat strength in friendly territory when fighting against multiple civilizations.

It would keep the hidden bonus to spawn a few marsh in range of Estonia's capital as well.

It feels well balanced and not too overcomplicated. They start off with decent bonuses but are still weak because they are rare and only yield 1 food. Later into the game they might become quite powerful tiles if you play a cultural game. The combat strength in friendly territory I based on the Estonian Independence war when they were fighting on two fronts but still got independence.

The new icon is excellent! :)

I can make the icons for Laululava/-väljak and Soomusrong, when I'll have some spare time for making art. It'll be good refreshment from my current projects! :) (and I don't have to draw humans, I'm still quite terrible at drawing people!)

Give it a Marsh starting bias. Much more simple and Uighur_Caesar was already working on a code for that anyways.

I'd also mirror the comment of making your UA simpler. Just leave what's absolutely necessary for your civ to have. If possible go with something wild, to make it more appealing to people even if they haven't heard of Estonia before.

UA: Inbetween Swamps and forests
Marshes yield +2 :c5culture: culture, +1 :c5faith: faith.
An additional every next era +2 :c5culture: culture, +1 :c5faith: faith from marshes
Starting from Industrial Era instead additional +1 :c5food: food, +2 :c5production: production
Marsh resources are added to your trade network upon discovering
there is no penalty fighting in marshes.
(Last two have to be there otherwise it is almost impossible to specialize on marsh terrain.. last one might be hidden as well)

+25% :c5strength: Combat strength in friendly territory when fighting against multiple civilizations.

(Possible hidden addition: if you settle for first 3 times then max 3 marshes spawn near you and replace flat terrain..)

New UA.. A bit Easier to understand.. A lot of bonuses from Marshes..
