Germany to win but I want Greece to win. A hat trick from Karagounis (or is he suspended, i think he is..) or Kyriakos Papadoupolous.

tomorrow and not today, wanna see kyriakos funnying

Well i already stated Greece is the outsider (as is obvious). So i too think that most probably Germany will advance.
I would not really care if it does, i just would not want a massacre against Greece, and not for me (for i do not watch soccer at all anyway) but for those here who seem to grant special significance to the game.
I merely noted it would be a symbolic game, and as such it deserves a watch. But obviously even if Greece advances it won't change anything that actually matters, that is the economic situation.

I think it's going to be a lot closer than people think...It wouldn't be the first time the Greeks pull an upset. I still think Germany will win. BTW, ¿who will replace Karagounis since he's suspended?

I'm confident that it'll be a crappy match, much like Portual-Czech Rep. today.

Ronaldo is phenomenal.

Looks like Gomez, Podolski and Müller are all going to sit on the bench.

No, it's got nothing to do with arrogance. Said players haven't been too convicing and much too static. Gomez in particular is too easy to take out of the match by a good defense.

Hm, ok. Like i said i watched none of the games (of any team). However by browsing at the euro 2012 site it would seem that those players were among the biggest names of the German team (?).
Could be wrong though...

Often I think the biggest thing a team like Greece has going for it is the fear it inspires, "your attackers won't be enough", "their defense will always resist", reputation persuading stronger teams to change to weaker tactics.

Surely Bayern play a Greece-like team most weeks in Germany? Has Gomez really had such big problems unlocking weaker defensive teams?

Well, it is a very arrogant stance, let's see what happens :)
Must you interpret everything in the worst possible way? Seriously, no trainer is going to risk a knock out match to show off against a supposedly weak adversary.

Gomez and Podolski in particular have proven to be useless against a strong defense so I'd rather take that decision as a sign of respect.

Gomez has scored three goals! Jesus, you Germans have high standards.

To be honest i imagine Gotze and Klose will replace Podolski and Gomez (I don't know about Mueller) - which are both quality replacements, so it isn't like Greece will be playing Deutschland "B" team.

I think replacing Podolski has been long overdue.
The others I guess come down to personal preference, but I reckon the only reason Gomez got the striker spot ahead of Klose was because of the latter's fitness problems.

Oh Thank you Löw, you just took a giant crap on my fantasy team! :(

I understand the rationale behind it though. The Greeks were expecting these three players to go from the start, perhaps Germany is expecting to surprise them with other names on the pitch, that they would not know so much about.
